Agreed!Damned good movie!
Think Boondocks....Before I watch this jawn on Netflix is it good?
Ok so goodThink Boondocks....
We're you able to play it?I hope that works, like they only allow me to play the trailer without even releasing the movie yet to watch.
Yeah, it all good now, it allowed me to finally play the movie when it should've been out earlier. Its what it is. I just had to be patient but wanted to know what was taking so long since others had Netflix as well being able to watch it earlier. We're you able to play it?
In my case, my options for it were different; play trailer and info were small squares above the play movie button....
play movie was automatically highlighted and if I wanted to get to info or play trailer I had to press right then up (info) or right again (play trailer) but if I hit up twice or just right twice I was on a different movie/ tier... shit was weird......
I used to be able to click on the movie and then select info, trailer or play movie..... But Imma check it out over the weekend, trying to decide between this or blackening first
Think Undercover Brother meets Hunters with a little Westworld with a touch of Sorry to Bother You. I think it was good. There's the obvious message and covert messages in the movie.Ok so good
I think a second viewing is required. Watching the film with the concept of Annihilation vs Assimilation argument. How easily Black People are considered a monolithic society.Just finished it.
Let me say that I enjoyed it. I gauge Netflix films based on if I would’ve been mad had I paid money to see it. I wouldn’t have been upset at all.
I only have one minor complaint.
Since Jordan Peele dropped “Get Out” it’s raised the bar for all films but especially these type of films that have a black cast and a hint of sci fi in them. So then as a viewer you find yourself always wanting the twists and the big reveals to be fulfilling like Peele does so good at in his films.
The big reveal here is mid. Maybe 10 years ago it wouldn’t have been but Peele has raised the bar in that regard and it’s probably unfair to filmmakers but the bar got raised.
But I can appreciate the film and a somewhat original concept. Great cast. Funny.
It’s kind of funny for Boyega it kind of feels like a full circle moment for him. I get Attack of the Block vibes which is a good thing.
Possibly. I’m just speaking strictly on the twist. It didn’t fulfill like it could’ve. I think for me it gave off vibes of Boots Riley and Jordan Peele’s work and it wasn’t that as far as the twists go but in quality it was very good and on par with them.I think a second viewing is required. Watching the film with the concept of Annihilation vs Assimilation argument. How easily Black People are considered a monolithic society.
That’s another good one it gives vibes of.Reminded me of Black Dynamite which was friggin spectacular......
