Now this is a bad ass setup, gamers paradise !

These keyboards I see in these pics...Is it more for the look, or do they function well?

The girly ones are mostly for looks. There is a Filipino girl that changes her keys and puts girly things on them like hearts, stars or ice cream cones.

The others are more for function or might be full-on gaming keyboards.

The shit ain't home but it will do in a pinch.

It's all good. The best things about rooms and layouts is that they can always be modified.

On a semi-related note ... looking forward to replacing a few items in the next year or two.

An older PC, TV, and laptop. Maybe the fridge.

Our sofa's still new as of last year. Office desk & dining room table have held up well over time.

Thanks - agreed re: suggestions and visual motivation. I'm happy for my dad in recent years. He's always been a bit behind the times. Still chooses not to own a cellphone. Got his first DVR a few years ago. Always had older TVs, cars, and electronics. He was comfortable taking apart & fixing CD and DVD players back in the day. He felt competent with that, but felt as though computers, laptops, and other smaller gadgets were above his paygrade.

Well ... in recent years he's upgraded to 2 new vehicles. He asked me to help him pick out a 58" Samsung a few years back. Had me help him pick out a new PC. His gf bought him an IPad, gaming chair (for comfort; he doesn't game), and a 27" pc monitor for recent years' gifts.

I'm glad he's got newer stuff now which is hassle-free.

His gf's still reminding him the kitchen needs a complete reno though! It's still stuck in the 80s.

Sounds like my Pops. We had to grab him kicking and screaming and bring him to modern technology. I replaced all of his VCR movies with digital versions on raid hard drives and connected to a roku TV. I never seen him so happy when he can watch the Wild Bunch without having to rewind. My mom is the opposite, she embraces tech. I am thinking about getting her the galaxy fold.

Props on hooking your dad up. I've been making him flashdrives in recent years (for TV & car stereo). Lol @ the old-school movies. Pops finally got rid of (donated) a shitload of VHS tapes a year or two back. Still has a bunch of CDs, DVDs and records. Interesting about your mom embracing tech. Same over here. They divorced 25 years ago - though mom's always been pretty up on tech, though not the most savvy. She's tried out a handful of smartphones. Bought a Macbook last week. Had an IMac back in the late-2000s. Loves her IPad. Bought me my first IPod Touch as a gift (been a fan of that model since).

Good choice w/ potentially getting your mom the Galaxy Fold.
