I feel bad for dude. He was apart of the process and was putting up good numbers early in his rookie season then they benched him. He's a poor defender and he's a low post to midrange offensive player. He really got extend his range to the 3pt line and work hard on the defensive side. Surprised the Hawks didn't get him in that Lin trade.

He's not under contract with us. Straight UFA which makes the lack of interest even more humbling for him. Hopefully he gets inspired and brings it defensively.

Okafor is trying hard to totally change his game. Probably the hardest his ass has ever worked.

Funny how things go. It was between Russell and Okafor...in the end Porzingis was the better choice....but Russell at least showed enough to get rid of Mosgov. I think if we drafted Okafor he would have still been in the league at least.

I would take him over Zubac. Hell, I would have chosen Thomas Bryant over Zubac

The Bulls sign Jabari Parker after Milwaukee pulls his qualifying offer. Not sure about whether he can play the 3 consistently but the Bulls deal for Jabari Parker seems to be as favorable as it can be. 2 years, 40 million with a team option for the 2nd year. They're taking a flyer and seeing if he can live up to his potential.

Chicago is fuckin up their money. I guess they feel like they can get to the playoffs. But Zach Lavine and Parker aren't taking you out the first round.

Why did it take multiple guys to hem up Tyler Ulis who is all of 5'8 and maybe 160 pounds soaking wet?

You act like they were big or something?

It didn't take multiple guys. His dumb ass was trying to stop them from getting on the elevator and hold it for his friends.

Did you see how he responded to them. He pushed them first and didn't even get one punch in.

Both Jabari and Lavine contracts rub some folks the wrong way. Not because they lack talent, but because of the injuries. Whereas thats a lot of money between both players, the Bulls structured their contracts whereas they wont be stuck with them like they were stuck with D Rose. Currently #5, as far as salary caps in the NBA, which is GREAT for their long term plans. If Parker is gone in 2020, then that opens the door for one of the many big name players that hit FA in 2020.

Based off their talent alone, had both players never gotten injured, both would easily be getting over 25 per. Like u stated, these contracts are basically "lets see what happens" type contracts.

WC has looked GREAT in summer league. Hutchison too! Thats a nice/young/talented starting 5. Im excited to see what this line up looks like once its on the floor.

As for the playoffs....we were making the playoffs regardless. LBJ is gone. the door is open for a lot of folks now. We aint beating GS in the finals, but we making the playoffs. WHich is cool with me....for now.

We’re starting to see why LeBron had to leave Cleveland
By Jake Nisse

lj.jpg

LA-Bron is in full force.

Nearly two weeks after agreeing to sign with the Lakers, LeBron James is soaking in the Los Angeles lifestyle — the type that couldn’t exist in Cleveland.

On Wednesday night, he dined with Leonardo DiCaprio and Al Pacino, as TMZ spotted the power trio.
But in Hollywood, LeBron is planning more than just dinners.

According to Variety, James and writer Steve Mallory have sold an untitled comedy pitch to Paramount Players. James is set to star in the movie, his second foray into acting after playing himself in “Trainwreck” previously.

The move to Los Angeles was not solely for basketball reasons; if he wanted to win, Philadelphia had the better assets and, in the East, the easier path back to the Finals. But LA has different opportunities, and the best basketball player on the planet is an emerging film player, too.

His company SpringHill Entertainment recently sold the show “Hustle,” and James, a member of the Producers Guild, also has been a producer on various projects.

This is what Cleveland and home could not offer James, who agreed to a four-year deal with the Lakers.

The team may not be a force from Day 1, but it seems the city alone may justify LeBron’s stay

U heard of the salary floor right?

And what money to fuck up and spend on who?

When they launched jimmy, that ended any possibility kyrie + Jimmy would play with each other

It's the East so pretty much any team can make the playoffs. Personally I would have let Lavine go to the Kings. As for Parker it's not a long term deal so if things don't work out they can get out of the deal easily and it's not like next year's draft looks like it'll be stacked with talent so tanking isn't as beneficial as in some other years.
And you're right. They shouldn't be able to get out of the 1rst round but it is the East and maybe they'd be able to even with a defense that isn't likely to be good at all.

As for Ulis I don't know what the fuck he was doing or why he pushed dude but 2 guys had a hold of him to get him off of the elevator.

I agree, they could've let Lavine walk.

I like the Parker move, tho. Having him in pocket just in case he bounces back.

I'd rather take a chance on him than waste a pick on Michael Porter Jr.

Bulls were at -2 mill when i made my first post. But since the Jabari deal was finalzied, we're now at -22+....lol. But the Cap is supposed to raise again soon, so the Bulls will be rescued from a few million in the near future.

I look at Jabari contract as a 1 year cap hit. Cause the second year is a team option (because of his injuries). Its basically a "prove that your worth a long term deal" contract. After next year, after he's shown what he can do, the Bulls can either trade him, keep him (and restructure his deal for longer) or let him go in 2020 and get ready for some other big name FA. They can even do something in FA 2019:

"On the plus side, the Bucks rescinding Parker's qualifying offer allowed Chicago to make the second season of Parker's deal a team option, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. That protects the Bulls in case Parker doesn't fit and allows them to create up to $45-plus million in cap space next summer even after paying LaVine. So Chicago could still have a chance to use its cap space more productively in 2019 than this year."

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24080805/next-jabari-parker-chicago-bulls-milwaukee-bucks-nba

As for Zach, his contract is also laced with "fine print" because of his injury. Like I stated earlier, in todays market, Zach is easily 25+ per year player; thats now getting 19 mill because of his 1st injury. Zach doesnt have a injury history and he looked crazy good in limited time last year. And he wasnt even at 100%. You got people with Zach's talent getting over 30 per. If the Bulls think that 19 aint worth it, that contract will be SUPER easy to trade away.

My point? Its obvious the Bulls learned from what they lost via the D Rose injuries. If these two moves COMPLETELY fail, then I think that will be the end of Gar & Pax. I think both of them are depending on these young budding stars to save their legacies....lol. We'll see how it goes.

Free-agent guard Shabazz Napier has agreed to a two-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets, league sources told ESPN.

The deal includes a team option on the second year, league sources said.

Napier's pro career blossomed in the past two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he averaged a career-best 8.7 points and 20 minutes a game last year.

Napier, 27, will join a guard rotation for the Nets that includes D'Angelo Russell, Spencer Dinwiddie and Joe Harris.

Napier has averaged 5.7 points and 1.9 assists in four NBA seasons, including with the Blazers, Orlando Magic and Miami Heat.

Napier was the 24th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft.

Free-agent forward Channing Frye has agreed to a one-year, $2.4 million deal to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Frye spent parts of the past three seasons with the Cavaliers and was part of their championship team in 2016.

The Cavaliers moved Frye in a trade package that included Isaiah Thomas to the Los Angeles Lakers at the trade deadline in February. The Cavaliers plan to remain competitive in the Eastern Conference, and re-signing Frye provides veteran leadership and floor-spacing.

Frye has played 13 NBA seasons, averaging nine points, 4.6 rebounds and 38.7 percent 3-point shooting for his career.

The Cavaliers’ first reported signing since LeBron James announced he’ll be joining the Lakers is vet Channing Frye. Per the Associated Press, he’ll be getting the $2.4 million veteran’s minimum deal.

Frye was a member of the Cavs from 2016 when they won their first championship until they traded him to the Lakers in February of last season. The 35-year-old responded to that trade with jokes, and now that he’s reportedly back with the Cavs, he has more jokes.

In response to a fan who Photoshopped him onto the Nike banner of James that used to be in downtown Cleveland, Frye wrote, “About time! Lol.”

Then, to a fan who commented “Get ready to take us to the finals again” on his “Well i guess this is hello again” Instagram photo that he posted after news of his new deal broke, Frye lowered expectations by writing back, “way (too) early to be drinking lol.”

Julius Randle says he never worked on individual defensive drills while playing for the Lakers
Julius Randle appeared to throw a bit of shade at the Lakers during his introductory press conference with the Pelicans.

The writing on the wall for most of the 2017-18 Los Angeles Lakers season seemed to indicate that Julius Randle wasn’t long for the team. Randle wanted to prove he was worth a long-term deal, and the Lakers talked up the virtues of cap flexibility to sign stars, and eventually the two sides went their separate ways ways when the Lakers rescinded the qualifying offer to Randle — making him an unrestricted free agent — allowing him to sign a two-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka has since confirmed that the Lakers let Randlego in order to keep cap space open long-term, and the tone of one of Randle’s comments during his introductory press conference in New Orleans would seem to indicate that he took that decision personally.

When asked to says something about how he’d fit into Pelicans associate head coach Darren Erman’s defense, Randle seemed to throw a bit of shade at the Lakers and their head coach, Luke Walton (via the Pelicans’ YouTube Channel):

“This is the first time in my four years of NBA experience I think I’ve done an individual skills workout, did defensive drills. So for me that says it all about how serious he is about that end and I’m excited about that, I love that challenge.”

Now, maybe this isn’t shade. Maybe the Lakers just never did work on individual defensive skill drills and did all of their defensive work in groups. But if this is a shot, it’s not one based in any particularly factual accuracy, at least if it’s implying that the Lakers didn’t prioritize defense.

For one, the Lakers team that Randle was just a part of shockingly jumped to 12th in defensive efficiency last season, while the Pelicans ranked 14th. I guess that makes Randle’s comments good news, if true, because they would then seem to infer that the Lakers could get much better were they ever to work on that end of the floor.

The problem is, we know the Lakers do work on defense. For one, a team doesn’t jump from last in the league in defensive efficiency to 12th without work, and the Lakers talked all of last training camp about how their primary focus during those practice sessions was on improving their defense.

Randle was a major part of that leap, and by his own admission to Kevin Ding of Lakers.com, began focusing more on what he could individually do on the defensive end just last season:

“This year I really started to take a pride in my team playing well defensively,” he said. “And then individually taking a challenge on being able to stop guys or get big stops down the stretch. I really have taken a pride in that. I hate for teams to score or for somebody to score on me.”

Look, this might have been meant as an innocuous comment from Randle, and even if he were taking pot shots at the Lakers in the media, it would be understandable why he’d do so after the team yanked his role around all season despite almost inarguably being their best player for most of the year.

After all that, the Lakers still didn’t want to re-sign him to a multi-year deal, which from Randle’s perspective had to feel disrespectful after all his growth, hard work and contributions to the team, even if it’s totally defensible that the team would prioritize LeBron James and one-year deals so they can re-enter free agency and add another superstar next summer.

All that noted though, it’s still a bad look for Randle to go after the Lakers like this, especially after how beloved he was amongst some sections of the fan base. It might not be fun, but the high road is probably better here, because this isn’t an argument one can win in public anyway. Both sides are probably better off trying to move on and focus on the season ahead.

Remember IT said he was happy to finally have a practice once he got traded to the Lakers from Cleveland.

Cavs was focus on getting healthy and the finals, so having a vet team you won't run them in the ground at practice.
Also Randle have to understand that polishing your skill is done on you're on time. Some coaches might work on that but most don't and many ain't required to

Hopefully hes learned to keep his fucking mouth shut and just play ball now.

That's his problem,he run his mouth too fucking much. There is a reason, why every team he's been on never re-signed him or traded him....He acts like he's on LeBron,Steph and KD's level......

I still can't believe,he had the audacity to call out Kevin Love in the February meeting.....Love got him a chip yet you have one great year and want to act like he did something in the league. At least,Love can go out and give a team a double double almost every night and plays some defense. He's never been considered a good defensive player but Love plays better defense than that midget....:smh::smh::smh:
