Nets defend Kyrie Irving, say talk of issues 'completely untrue'
3:03 PM CT
    • Malika AndrewsESPN Staff Writer
NEW YORK -- The locker room turbulence the Celtics experienced during Kyrie Irving's time in Boston hasn't been an issue for the Brooklyn Nets, center DeAndre Jordan and coach Kenny Atkinson said Tuesday afternoon.
"It is not affecting our team," Jordan said after practice Tuesday. "I think Kyrie is a great guy. I don't think he is doing anything negative that I have seen. And he's a friend of mine, so if he was, I'd tell him."
Irving's locker room presence once again became a topic of conversation after ESPN's Jackie MacMullan wrote Monday night that the All-Star point guard declined to participate in wearing devices that gather biometric data. Later in the story, MacMullan wrote that, on the team's preseason trip to China, Irving had an incident that left "everyone scratching their heads."
"Quite frankly, I think the head-scratching incident happened from someone on the Rockets," Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie said Tuesday. "It had nothing to do with us."

"I don't read," Jordan said. "Unless it is Harry Potter or 'The Alchemist.' What do you want me to say? 'Kyrie is a bad guy, he is terrible. He is moody. I don't like to be around him. He is horrible in the locker room. He is a selfish player. I don't like his haircut. I wear his shoes only because they are comfortable and because he makes me.' Is that good?
    • "I feel like we are all competitive. Everybody in the world goes through mood swings."
Atkinson called any insinuation that Irving has had a negative impact on the Nets "completely untrue."
Irving declined to speak with reporters Tuesday.

Good game for the Lake show tonight. AD Lebron still rusty. Shit will be scary when Kuzma comes back.

I'll be interested to see how those LeBron/Rondo on/off court numbers stack up compared to last year when the Lakers got meteorized whenever they had them on the court at the same time.
In the pass Both pretty much were help defenders, playing passing lines...

Lebron been better in man to man situation than the previous years

What the fuck the Memphis got to do with the anyone getting excited to see the complete roster healthy?

The Lakers convo for the night started with "Good game," and reflections on how AD and LeBron looked. Just an indicator that their fans are going to be insufferable.

Everybody got their panties wet over AD. The shit was impressive, I'll admit

But with the Pelicans, I've seen him have many similar type games against low level teams on a random Tuesday nights with nobody watching.

He can put up numbers.

Let's see how he does when it's the second half of the season and star players need rest or are injured and he's in the middle of a line up full of marginal or developing NBA talent.

Ive never seen a player fill the box sheet so effortless as him. Its hard to explain. It's like it'll feel like he only has 10 points in a game, but you look at the box score and he got 35 points and 17 boards. Dude is a monster. :smh:

He needs to be healthy for the playoffs, then I’ll pay attention.

Yep, he has too many physical issues for me to Get excited in early season play.

I don’t know if he’s brittle or injury prone?

We just gonna ignore the fact that AD shot 28 free throws and only had 7 made field goals?

Good numbers, but let's put it in perspective...
