I like steph and having spent so much time in the bay in previous years it's honestly the only place outside of Houston I'd consider living. I thought for sure he'd have a big season. And I know he fragile, but damn bro less than 10 games in and already hurt? I wasn't expecting this and am actually disappointed.
My thought was Russell would be point and they'd run steph crazy off screens like a young ray Allen or reggie Miller... just let him shoot 25 times a night. To me, and maybe
@largebillsonlyplease can speak on this, it didn't look like they adjusted their offense very much. it looked like they wanted to prove that steph didn't need to score 30+ points for them to win, and that's not the approach I feel they should have taken.
First it was a freak accident. It wasn't some shit that is a testament to fragility. Any person in that situation with that same shit that happened would have broken their hand. That's why the cac that did it came up to Kerr after the game to apologize and try to check on Steph.
That part won't be mentioned and that's all good I get it.
Next, the opposite should have been done. I've been critical of Kerr for years on the record in here and I was told I was just speaking bs.
But now some of those same points I made are being considered and I sit back and just chuckle a little bit.
Kerr is stubborn and proved to be so. You have to adjust the offense and he didn't that's why the scores have been the way they have been.
The one game they said OK let's use Steph on the ball as we should it was a blowout win. Looking at that he decided to NOT do that again.
It's the same as in the finals. The defensive attention will solely be on Steph so it would be hard to get him the ball if a dude without it is getting basically double and tripled without it in his hands lol
So you put it in his hands and then everyone else gets open shots. It's not rocket science. It's a proven method that would easily work with any team Steph is on
We literally saw him HOUSE the Rockets in game 5 and 6. and COMPLETELY HOUSE the traiblazers last year all because his usage was up.
Only to completely ABANDON it in the finals lol
I'm STILL not mad at the team. I like all of the young dudes on the roster and I think they'll be building blocks for damn sure. The bench that everyone said wasn't good last year got revamped. Can't have it both ways. Say the bench is not good but then say you should have kept all those players we said wasn't good.
They were old and it showed and that's OK. Iggy barely playing and Livingston retired but somehow they would be putting in 35+ a night now that would be needed? NAH.
Even still the team will get better if he makes an adjustment the pieces to be competitive are right there. He misused Steph to start the year let's see if now he'll finally adjust. Or not.
