Doc talks about what I was saying about it being different, and how he didn't know KJ and didn't fuck with him until they had a conversation years later. The people he was friends with were ones he grew up with. Now it's different, with AAU everyone has grown up with everyone for five plus years. I've been around AAU and it's noticeable. Parents know each other. Kids knows each other.

The Clips got everyone a bike and weights.

I think this might cause most players to make sure they have a home court in the future. Either outside or inside.

But I'm not believing some of them haven't touched a basketball for two months.

That's why I think they might as well open up the gyms. I'm sure the ones who don't have home courts and even the ones that do are still playing.

Shaquille O'Neal says it isn't worth it for NBA to resume play: 'I think we should scrap the season'

I think we should scrap the season. Everybody go home, get healthy, come back next year. Just scrap the season. Just scrap it. To try and come back now and do a rush playoffs as a player? Any team that wins this year, there's an asterisk. They're not going to get the respect. What if a team that's not really in the mix of things all of a sudden wins with a new playoff format? Nobody is going to respect that. So, scrap it. Worry about the safety of the fans and the people. Come back next year.

Look, I understand how players are feeling. I really do. But any team that gets it done this year, there's going to be an asterisk on that championship.

I agree with him. This is a mess. Players won't be fully focused on the season. If one or two more players get the virus when they start up they'll have to shut down once again. It's not worth it. Just cancel everything. Award the Bucks regular season championship rings and be done with it.

It’s not worth it. Nobody will be properly prepared. A superstar will mess around and get a major injury or the virus spreads worse than the first time and now you run the risk for the following season

Safety-wise, you’re probably right.

But if muthafucka’s at the grocery store and fast food places gotta work, then them muthafucka’s can dribble a ball!

giphy.gif

And before one of you ANAL fuckers come in here and tell me how players can’t wear protection against the virus like other workers, I know.

It was a joke.

Think of it this way. The playoffs would be over in another 2 weeks anyway. Let’s start over fresh and not lose anymore time to this shit

I was actually gonna make a thread on this

I disagree with him

Cause then a whole bunch of champions are invalidated

the strike shortened

The rogue official

The closer 3 point line

Expansion

The playoff rounds getting shortened

The playoff format being changed

The Knicks Heat brawl and the Suns one

Just off top...

All those championship had MAJOR MAJOR events create inequality in some form or another.

So Shaq is completely wrong but i do UNDERSTAND his overall point

They're saying, if the season starts and someone catches it,that person gonna be isolated from the team instead of shutting it down again...They're trying to get that TV money..

It makes no sense at all because players that was in contact with that player can spread it.

Right. You may possibly end up with 6 guys on one team get it. Then what. This is a bad idea :smh:

I really don't think it will be any organized team sports of any kind for the remainder of this year and into next.
Baseball's probably the closest cause you can pretty much social distance while playing. Hell, with no fans in stands players can sit in the stands in-between being in the field, at-bats, or in stadiums with smaller ballparks like Fenway or Wrigley just sit in the clubhouse. Bullpens have enough room for guys to stay apart as well. Money will be the main reason the MLB season is canceled. Not the pandemic. The players union and owners can't agree on revenue sharing. :smh: Football is fucked without a vaccine. :smh:

This is,why I don't see how they can restart the season. It's not like the numbers are going down.

I fuck with Collin

What's crazy,he doesn't talk trash that much. I know him and Schröder went back and forth in both games this season...lol

Exactly. NBA and NFL in particular are fooling themselves right now. No way the NFL can get their hands on enough test kits to properly test all players and coaches every week and before games. :smh:

NBA owners, execs hopeful for return after call with Adam Silver, sources say
9:57 PM ET
  • Adrian WojnarowskiSenior NBA Insider
Participants on a board of governors call Tuesday with NBA commissioner Adam Silver left the virtual meeting increasingly positive about the league's momentum toward a resumption of play this season, sources told ESPN.
Owners and executives on the call were encouraged about the league's progress toward minimizing health risk upon a return and the league office's positive conversations with the National Basketball Players Association about the players' desire to eventually restart the season, sources said.

Discussions centered on health and safety concerns, including the goal of getting team officials and players comfortable with the idea that a positive test for the coronavirus upon a return would not shutter play.
EDITOR'S PICKS
Silver told those on the call that if a positive test would "shut us down, we probably shouldn't go down this path."
The question remains: How many positive tests would be too many? That is among the questions that the NBA, NBPA and medical experts have to come to terms with in the coming weeks before the league and union can greenlight a resumption of play.
Once the NBA formalizes a return to play, the league indicated to teams that the plan would be to standardize coronavirus testing among the 30 teams, sources said. For now, the NBA is allowing teams to use a variety of tests.
As for the format in a return to play, there still is no decision on the kind of form that would take with the 30 NBA teams, sources said. The league hasn't worked through the details on whether all 30 teams would return, or whether regular-season games would be played, or if perhaps there would be a play-in tournament to give more teams a chance to make the 16-team playoff field, sources said.
When asked about the bubble-isolation plan on the call, Silver described it as a "campus environment," sources said. He has talked about one or two locations for players, and the focus continues to be on Orlando's Walt Disney World Resort and Las Vegas, sources said.
The NBA shared with owners several factors that it plans to study over the next two to four weeks before deciding on restarting the league.

Among them, sources said: Understanding the trajectory of new cases in those states starting to reopen, understanding who is getting severely ill and why, and developments in testing types. The NBA also is studying how other leagues are handling positive tests among participants, sources said.
On the call, the league office wasn't optimistic about rapid-response testing becoming widely available within the next month, sources said.
There was growing confidence among owners on the call about how players were responding to the return to practice facilities. The league believes it will have 22 of its 30 facilities open by Monday, sources said.
The league office described to owners how leagues in the United States -- and across the world -- are handling a return to play, especially detailing overseas leagues from the Premier League to La Liga to the Chinese Basketball Association, sources said.

Chris Paul Holds Private Call With NBA Superstars To Establish United Front On Resuming Season
MAY 12, 2020 5:24 PM
Several of the NBA's biggest superstars conducted a private conference call on Monday to form a united front as the league discusses its potential return-to-play scenarios.
Chris Paul, the president of the players association, arranged the call that included LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard, Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard and Russell Westbrook.
The decisions reached by this group of players will hold significant weight in the decision-making process for the rest of the league's players.
All parties on the call were in agreement to take the court with proper safety measures once the NBA is given the green light to begin play.

They're killing it this season.

Shit was so good. All the shots at everybody The burning books. Kawhi's voice, james harden disappearing to the strip club when they needed him most. Charles Barkleys line. Skip and and Stephen A.What they did with Kobe was a nice touch. Sad there is only one episode left.
