I just can't fault the Nets for not extending him. Where I do fault them is not taking care of this in the offseason. If you knew you weren't gonna pay him get rid of him then. The Nets Do not have to pay him right now. They just don't.
I understand that's how business is done BUT.........THEY DO NOT HAVE TO PAY HIM. That's the reality. 
The Nets have tried to extend him for the past 2 years...
They tried when Harden was there... KD reup... he declined...
He then sits out half the season.. only plays Home Games... Swept 1st round...
They tried this summer he declined... He opts in and said he wants to run it back...
