More revisionist history to give tobe bean credit in death for something he didnt do in life.

TMAC was an Adidas high school athlete and had his pro deal done under the table well before the draft. His rise in stardom and popularity had him on track to become a face of the brand regardless of what happened with Kobe.

Maybe he means second contract? He was drafted in 1997 and Kobe left Adidas in 2002 so the timelines aren't lining up at all.
His high school deal was bigger than beans initial pro deal with Adidas. Tracy was a phenom coming out and tagged as a face of the brand. His deal was independent of anything that happened with tobe.

"I think, you know, I forgot about everything that was going on," said Swaggy P. "I think the feeling was like we won a championship or something. They had the Champagne bottles after. But yeah, it was great. The confetti, the five-minute intro he had. Kobe signing autographs, we was all in line like we was fans, you know, in the locker room, the fact that he threw my Adidas and didn’t sign my Adidas, I was a little disappointed in that. He could not end without something like that, so I think he threw my shoes in the trash, but yeah, that’s Kobe for you. ... He told me to get some Nikes, he's not signin' no Adidas."

T-Mac never won anything so he has to overembellish Kobe's legacy since thats the era he played in. It allows him to project himself as being more impactful than he was in the NBA. We've seen Reggie Miller and Barkley do this with Jordan, "I was great, the only reason I didnt win was because of him".
