They literally neutered defense in today’s game. Mf’s had to learn how to beat hand checking and more physical defense. Today’s athletes are just more athletic. I won’t even say more skilled because 80% can’t dribble without carrying, they double step back(travel) and some folks couldn’t even get to the basket without using a EuroStep. And try EuroStep against a Bad Boys type defense. These dudes couldn’t handle a Rueben Patterson or Tony Allen AND with hand checking? Please stop the bullshit John Salley

I think this generation could adapt to the old rules if they had to and SOME of the old guys could adapt to the new game too
This is video footage of the GOAT in a "dead ball" era dropping 50+ at 20 years old. You can see the greatness. And keep in mind this was 3 eras of basketball ago. A league full of Detlef Schrempfs and Rex Chapman's wouldn't see the floor today. They weren't skilled enough and can't guard nobody. Muggsy Bogues was one of the best point guards back then.
The game has evolved even tho Jordan Brand and Kobe Brand haven't. They will both be stuck in the past forever.
