Shakur Stevenson - $350,000
Joet Gonzalez - $200,000

The purses for tonight's WBO featherweight title fight.

Good payday for Shakur given he's three years and 13 fights into his pro career
Is it really a good payday?
Only if that's the dollar amount after all expenses have been paid.
If not, its a not a good payday at all.
40% goes to taxes off the top, so that's $210,000 remaining.
Bob Arum will get 25% of that, so that's $157,000 remaining.
Then his manager J Prince will get 25% of that, so that's $117,750 remaining.
Trainer.....that's another 15% gone, so that's $100,087 remaining.
Cutman probably gets 2% so now he's down to $98,085,26 remaining.
Training camp fees, sparring partners, food, travel......

The way the Gonzaleses were talking, I expected more fireworks. They had to have known lil buddy was going to get washed like that. I'm starting to think they wanted a pay day.

The father was talking about a sparring session with Shakur and how Joet embarrassed him. I’m highly doubting that story and everything they said about Shakur.

I thought it was bullshit that they were given so much time to slander Shakur’s name like that.

Nonetheless they walked in talking mess and walked out with their tails between their legs. I saw tears and frustration in Joet’s eye....bitchass bitch!

That's the typical percentage cut that promoters and managers get.
Its been like that for years.
Boxers net pay is nothing like the number we all see.
That pie gets cut up so many ways that its sad.
Boxing is a cruel sport.
But if you can make it to the top (which is extremely difficult) it can be life changing money.

Yeah, it can be. Manager or promoter gets 33 and 1/3, coach gets 10%, cutman gets 5%, then you pay for camp. A lot of cats cut that camp shit out. They stay at home and workout at their home gym. Yeah, uncle Sam gets his shit off the top. Boxing is a damn racket, but shit ain't bad if you get to he point where you are making 100k + a fight. You can do 3-5 fights a year and in my book, that ain't bad money for knocking a mofo out. The price breakdown is the reason I didn't turn pro. Now, I wish I would have. I would have made some of that KO money.

Damn Canelo is the so called face of boxing, and nobody gives a fuck about this fight

This time during a Floyd fight week there would be so much talk, flood of media everywhere, fight party preparation plans etc.

This week

Here's Anthony Joshua's chief sparring partner who's playing the role of Ruiz in camp.
Timothy "Mayhem" Moten, (5-0, 2 KOs)

Can't be. That's fucking retarded. Similar body types doesn't make for similar fighters. He needs a quick, highly skilled fighter to get ready.

Maybe he's just there for the workout, I can't see him being used to get ready for Ruiz.

If yall want a laugh check out KQKC boxing on YouTube for the live fight chat. The Singing O.G. He sings Superchats, curses up a storm, and talks boxing with the flair of a Harlem Pimp-turned-Street Preacher.

Evander Holyfield's son just got the KO over the whiteboy in the first round.

It was his professional debut.
