Former four-division titleholder Adrien Broner was taken into custody Tuesday morning and began serving a 10-day jail sentence for violating terms of his probation in his hometown of Cincinnati.

Broner was incarcerated at the Hamilton County (Ohio) Jail at 10:19 a.m. for reckless driving and is due to be released on April 22, according to the jail's website. TMZ initially reported on Broner's sentencing.

In July 2015, Broner was sentenced to six months' probation in connection to a drunken driving arrest. Broner later entered a plea of no contest to reckless driving and was given probation.

Broner, 26, appeared in court Tuesday morning, pleaded guilty to the probation violation and began serving his sentence.

The case Tuesday is not related to Broner's arrest on charges of felony assault and aggravated robbery in connection to an incident during the early-morning hours of Jan. 21, when he allegedly assaulted a man and robbed him of $12,000 at gunpoint outside a Cincinnati bowling alley.

Broner allegedly lost the money to the victim during a night of high-stakes betting on bowling games, knocked him unconscious outside the bowling alley after a confrontation and took the money.

With two outstanding felony warrants for his arrest, Broner still boxed in Washington, D.C., in a nationally televised fight on April 1. He knocked out Ashley Theophane one day after being stripped of his junior welterweight title for failing to make weight.

Broner (32-2, 24 KOs) returned to Cincinnati and turned himself in on April 4, as had been arranged between his attorney and Hamilton County officials. Broner was released later that day on $100,000 bond and pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on April 5.

I don't know about ya'll. But I think Wilder is a fraud. He can't box. He has NO balance. All he has is HR punches. What do ya'll think. I watch him closely, and I am not sold on his skill level.

BOXING: ADRIEN BRONER INDICTED ON ASSAULT, ROBBERY CHARGES

By: Mike Sloan
Apr 14, 2016
Multi-divisional world boxing champion Adrien Broner was indicted by a grand jury on Thursday. Broner, who was arrested and put behind bars earlier this week for violating his probation in an unrelated reckless driving case, could face up to 26 years in prison if found guilty.

Broner (32-2, 24 KOs) was officially indicted on assault and robbery charges stemming from a lawsuit filed by a man who claimed Broner pointed a gun at him over a dispute over a high-stakes bowling session in the fighter’s hometown of Cincinnati. The man alleges to have won thousands of dollars from Broner, but when he tried to leave the bowling alley, “The Problem” pulled a gun on him and knocked him out, taking all of his money.

Broner, who won titles in four different weight classes, was indicted on an aggravated battery charge, a first-degree felony that carries a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in prison. The polarizing pugilist was also indicted second-degree charges of felonious assault and robbery, which carry up to eight years apiece.

Bond for Broner was set at $100,000. No date has been set as of yet for a pretrial hearing.

Broner last fought on April 1, when he stopped Ashley Theophane in the ninth round in Washington D.C. Broner had two warrants for his arrest leading up to the fight but he was allowed to fight the Brit in the nation’s capital. According to reports, Broner turned himself into the authorities after his win over Theophane and posted bond.

Do you think he would give Broner a run for his money or would his inexperience cost him in the ring?

Its a shame to see a young black man who had so many things fall in place so beautifully for him to succeed fail so badly. You link up the the GOAT in Floyd, not just boxing but he would have taken you under his wing in terms of success after boxing.... As well as other really good and influential role models, only to self destruct. One great thing is... MONEY was a calculated character he created as a BRAND to increase his marketability and income... Broner unfortunately BECAME his alter ego and has possibly destroyed his future... :smh:

Yep and now Mikey Garcia is FINALLY out of his contract with Bob Arum and Top Rank Floyd's been reaching out to him. Floyd has been trying to sign him to TMT for a minute and invited him to camps because he sees potential in him, and Mikey will listen.

A fight with him and Crawford would be a good look for boxing.
