GGG looking as heavy handed as ever...dropped dude 3 times so far...we in the 5th round

You can see that he’s not the Triple G of old. He’s a step slower and he may be missing a gear. Or that may be a new style to preserve his career. He’s always had defensive lapses, I never believed he was just letting going someone hit him for entertainment purposes. Sometimes he’s so offensive minded, he forgets about defense.
On the flip side, he still has the great jab and very heavy handed. His high boxing IQ was rarely spoke of. If you were teaching someone to be a puncher, I would tell them to watch GGG. He cuts the ring off better than anyone, great footwork. It’s the reason in the first fight with Canelo he was constantly able to get him to the ropes. In the 2nd fight, when Canelo was the aggressor, he never got GGG to the ropes.
Still a problem for anyone at 160 but can be beaten. I don’t think he can or wants to swim in deep water anymore.
Still heavy handed but clearly a step less explosive...think he is now a step behind the top guys at the weight (Canelo, Charlo etc)...lower half of the top ten on his way down but still dangerous and not someone anyone should take lightly
In the end, the sides finalized a pay reduction of several million dollars for the Szeremeta matchup, and also agreed Friday’s fight won’t count as one of the six total bouts Golovkin is owed by DAZN. Four fights remain on the contract, and assuming he wins, as expected, talks will resume toward what Golovkin’s team hopes is a banner 2021 that returns the power puncher to the top of the sport.
