Haney fought an excellent fight and did excellent job against a good fighter!

Against a shitty fighter Haney would’ve taken more risks and knocked him out. He respected Kambosos speed and power which is why he couldn’t and didn’t go all out.

Kambosos wasn’t trash, everything that he tried to do was nullified by the jab and he was outboxed. Everything that he tried was blocked, missed our he got hit in return.

I think the issue is that you\we needed to see more offense has shedder punches from Haney. And with that I agree.

It’s nice to bob and weave, avoiding punches and jab. But at some point we need to see more punches that actually do damage other than a jab.
Ok cool I agree with everything u said

yea thats why he was so loud with the "Earn with Hearn" talk during that stretch, it was a very lucrative stretch for him with MR. Now Bob is a lot more stingy with money for his roster besides Fury so we'll see how it goes for Haney during this TR stretch. The thing is for Haney to get to that rare level of 8 figure purses, he's either gonna have to become a good heel which he hasn't shown he can so far or the only other potential way is to get fights and beat all the other big names in and around his weight class which we know is difficult in the landscape with the diff networks.

Damn he’s made that much? o_O

I literally had not idea! I see the cars and the jewels thinking he was living beyond his means!:roflmao:

I had no idea that he was doing it like that, congrats to him!

Now another play the Haneys could run is to try to get some of that crazy money KSA and UAE been throwing out to boxing and few other sports which AJ, Floyd, Khan have all already been getting. I mean yall seen all that allah u akbar and alhamdulillah going on in the ring from the Haneys last night with inshallah thrown in for good measure

What he did was remarkable and you might be right about people paying to see him lose.

But he’s not well known enough or hated enough for people to really root against him.

I could be wrong though. :dunno:
You ain't wrong...he put on a clinic but his opponents will need to sell his fights....luckily for him, he got the belts so they can't (or shouldn't be able to,) avoid him

One advantage Haney has is his Dad and his team around him seem to be really smart at running the business side of things so far in his career, can't really think of too many boxers thats earned money like this already by 23 yrs old besides the Mike Tyson, Prince Naseem Hamed coming up in my mind

Observations from Donaire v Inoue:
  • Inoue is a problem - interesting power from short distance, sharp punches - can probably KO someone in a phone booth
  • Donaire is a true boxer - clearly hurt, but preferred to weather the storm... Wouldn't say he should hang em up cause he looked good, comp was just superior
  • Japanese fans are not vocal at all, the fight was quiet of cheers and when things got exciting they'd clap - but not for long
  • I was hard pressed to find people in the crowd that didn't have a mask on - stark contrast from western civilization
  • The post-fight ring announcer interview reminded me of the Dragon Ball & DBZ tournament announcer
    • Again the fans were quiet during this time, but clapped for Donaire upon his exit
  • The Japanese translator was off camera during the post-fight interview, so the camera focus was ring interviewer & Inoue
Overall it was a good card, great main event - worth the sleep sacrifice

Sidenote - the '22 Boxing HOF class is stacked... What I'm totally confused about is how in the world Roy Jones is not inducted yet... Even Ward who is in this class was confused as to how he's in before Roy...

Probably because Roy’s last pro fight was in 2018, they need to be retired by at least 5 years.

With this Drama in Saitama 2 we should be at 13 $1 mil+ gates for first half of 2022, strong bounceback for boxing economy after the no crowd era

Boxing is a cruel but beautiful sport. Unfortunately the old guard always gets taken out by the young Lion and the sport goes on. That was tough to see a warrior like Donaire get absolutely blown away like that.

Side note. It’s fascinating how respectful the Japanese crowds are. They’re silent during the fight, they applaud and clap during knockdowns, and then they’re silent and attentive while the fighter is being interviewed. The Tyson-Douglas fight was the exact same way.
