Yeah I think Brook is the best in this division. Styles make fights though and Thurman could hit Brook with a shot to put him out.

hell i said that dumb shit too

but their is nothing robotic about dude anymore

mofo is legit

Against slow ass Martin and Breazeale, he looks like Floyd. Just wait. He's the reincarnation of Frank Bruno. The KO, when he actually fights someone with a pulse, is going to be devastating. Just like your boy, Javier Fortuna.

my god Anthony Joshua is the best heavyweight ive seen in yrs

super fast hands for heavies, ridiculous power, decent footwork

aint nobody fucking with him
Pump the brakes just a bit. Loll
He's good but he's still improving.
For some reason Joshua never goes to the body.
Head shots, heads shots, and more head shots.
That's not gonna work AT all against fighters like Fury and Deontay Wilder.
Both still beat Joshua if they fought today, IMO.
Breazeale was TURRBLE.
Dude was closing his eyes while he punched and before he got punched.
Joshua has only had 17 fights, so he's still improving.
He's got a an extensive amateur background, so his learning curve won't be steep.

Fuck HBO with they cac agenda, they can pay to stage a fight overseas for Kolaev against a bum but didnt have the money to show the Crawford/Postol fight, 2 young undefeated dudes at the top of their weight class so Arum had to take it to ppv, fucking bullshit cause im excited to see Crawford raise his profile

Eubank Rips Golovkin: I Never Saw a Contract, Brook Fight is a Joke!

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, Kell Brook will move up two weight divisions to face WBC, WBA, IBO and IBF middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin on September 10 at London's O2 Arena.

The unbeaten Sheffield fighter had been expected to put his IBF welterweight title on the line against WBO titlist Jessie Vargas in a unification bout later this year.

However, in an unexpected twist, Brook will instead take on Golovkin, widely regarded as the best fighter at 160lbs and who has earned a reputation as a knockout specialist, having stopped 32 of his 35 opponents.

golovkin-eubank-3_3.jpg

Brook (36-0, with 25 KO wins) retains his status as IBF welterweight champion, a title he has defended against three underwhelming opponents since beating Shawn Porter by a close decision in California two years ago.

He has been craving a showdown against a big-name opponent although he and his handlers appeared content to continue campaigning at 147lbs.

Brook, though, had no hesitation in boldly agreeing to move up in weight.

Brook follows in the footsteps of fierce rival Amir Khan, who himself jumped up from welterweight to middleweight earlier this year to take on then WBC champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. That fight, which Khan lost by a brutal sixth-round knockout, was fought at a catchweight of 155lbs and it is unknown whether Golovkin will make a similar concession in weight.

Golovkin (35-0, with 32 KO wins) has stopped his last 22 opponents, including Brook's compatriots Matthew Macklin and Martin Murray on his rise to the top of the middleweight rankings.

The 34-year-old, who is based in the United States, had seemingly been earmarked to next fight Chris Eubank Jr, who reacted with dismay to Friday's announcement.

He wrote on Twitter: "I haven't been shown one contract since my fight with GGG was announced. I'm still ready & waiting to sign. Fighting Brook is a joke #2Small."

In other boxing news, I saw the Kovalev/Chilemba fight tonight. Kovalev won as expected.

I'm starting to see the work SOG about to put in work this winter the way Kovalev was struggling to KO this cat. Cuz was frustrating the hell out of Kovalev plus dude got some good jabs in too.

Report: Manny Pacquiao to return on Oct. 29 or Nov. 5

There were few who thought that Manny Pacquiao would walk away from the sport that made him a superstar despite announcing his retirement after defeating Timothy Bradley back in April. And now it is confirmed that the Filipino superstar’s brief hiatus will end later this year.

According to ESPN.com, Manny Pacquiao will return to boxing on either Oct. 29 or Nov. 5 in the main event of an HBO PPV in Las Vegas. This comes after Pacquiao retired to focus on his family and winning a seat as a senator in his home country of the Philippines. But those speeches that Pacquiao gave in April always felt half-hearted, especially after he put together a brilliant performance in toppling Bradley.

Speculation on a possible Pacquiao return started earlier this month when Top Rank’s Bob Arum reserved a October 15 date for the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. But with Pacquiao’s senatorial duties making his workload much more intense, the date had to be moved, as the Filipino fighter reportedly has to figure out how to manage his schedule so he can maintain his daily duties as a senator and prepare for a boxing match.

“Manny wants to come back. The problem is he can only come back if it doesn’t interfere with his senate duties,” Arum said. “We had penciled him in for Oct. 15 at Mandalay Bay but we were informed that is no longer possible because he has to spend that week leading up to Oct. 15 formulating the budget in the senate and doing the votes.”

There is still the matter of finding a venue as well. Arum wants to stage Pacquiao’s return in Las Vegas but building availability appears to be an issue. Arum is targeting the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Mandalay Bay Events Center or T-Mobile Arena, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. If those three locations are out of the questions due to scheduling difficulties, Arum will look to the Thomas & Mack Center.

His opponent has yet to be announced, however, it won’t be a rumored showdown with Adrien Broner. Top Rank’s Bob Arum stated that Broner’s asking price was a “crazy number” and he effectively priced himself out of the bout.

“I worked very, very hard with [Broner’s adviser] Al [Haymon] to make the Broner fight but Al was never able to bring Broner around to a realistic number,” Arum said. “He wanted what we haven’t paid anybody in a long time. Just a crazy number. In effect he wanted parity with Manny and Al agreed that he couldn’t do anything with him. The kid is crazy.”

Other possible opponents include Terence Crawford, who faces Viktor Postol on July 23 in Las Vegas, as well as Jesse Vargas, who lost out on a Kell Brook fight when the Brit decided to jump up two weight classes for a showdown with Gennady Golovkin this fall.

There has been speculation regarding a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao considering very few expected both to be retired for long. Pacquiao will be the first to end his retirement while Mayweather appears to be comfortable away from the sport, for now.
