Manny Pacquiao's retirement tour has hit another bump in the road.

On Tuesday, Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum told Lance Pugmire of the LA Times that an April 22 bout between his client and English star Amir Khan would no longer be taking place.

Pacquiao recently tweeted that he was in negotiations to face Khan, canceling a previously reported fight with the relatively obscure Jeff Horn.

According to Arum, Pacquiao's hunt for a $38-million purse was a factor in the negotiations falling apart.

"When they contacted me, I told them it was pie in the sky, that this is crazy, it's not going to happen," Arum said. "Manny wanted to roll the dice. He rolled the dice and it came up snake eyes.

"If something is too good to be true, it's too good to be true."

Pacquiao is expected to review a new proposal soon for a bout that could take place in July, but Arum would not comment on a potential opponent or location.

The 38-year-old boxing superstar returned to competition after a brief seven-month retirement last November, defeating Jessie Vargas by unanimous decision to capture the WBO welterweight championship.

Danny got the size. Could we see an upset?

Boxing needs one. Too many dudes holding belts that aint moving the sport forward. Garcia needed to sit his ass down, Thurman needed to be someone of note (Porter is a game fighter. No shade.) Wilder going to sleep within 18 months, if not his next fight. Floyd will please us all by shutting down that Cac. And GGG needs a test. A fighter. Jacobs needs to not rush into it. Move and box, see if GGG can catch up to him or gets cut off easily by his movement. GGG dont really need a jab, so he likely won't commit to one. Jacobs could capitalize by sending mad jabs his way, connect or not, then working behind that jab. GGG likes to hurt you, he isn't a fighter than frustrates. He hurts you early, than has you on the defensive the rest of the fight. Jacobs has to win round with counter shots because GGG loves to dig to the body. If he can send something back to make him only head hunt, he could take him off his game, steal rounds and win this fight.

Or he could just knock him out. I think Danny has that type of power if GGG leaves himself too open.

I feel you. Gotta put it behind some good work, though. Don't think a one shot deal does it. gotta blind him with something then give him some'n to eat!

Key to beating GGG is fighting him on the inside. Just stand and fight him more success winning that way. Glovkin likes to cut off the ring and take you out with counter punches. If Jacobs can hustle GGG on the inside he could beat him.

Check GGG fight with Willie Monroe Jr. Rounds 1,2 he was sticking and moving and glovkin chased him cornered him and knocked him down. But rounds 3,4,5 Willie stopped all that moving around and just stood and banged with glovkin. He won more rounds like that.
