Wtf are the Clippers doing? 76ers just raped these dudes.

More like WTF are you talking about

They got two first rounders for a player they didn't want to give the max to and who's contract expires at the end of the year.

They fleeced the 76ers.

So either they were going to lose him for nothing or have to sign him to a bad contract. Teams never get that much for a player on an expiring deal.

I like the move; not sure if it puts them as the team to beat in the east; but I like the move; no bench though...
Boban and Scott help that bench right away and Zhaire Smith is almost ready too they have high hopes for him.

REPORT: Knicks Were Anthony Davis' Top Choice Before Porzingis Refused Extension

Anthony Davis might have been a New York Knick by now if it wasn't for that rascally Kristaps Porzingis. On the day KP was dealt to the Dallas Mavericks, the Knicks were reportedly working on a trade with New Orleans with the knowledge that Madison Square Garden was Davis's top choice for a trade destination.

Unfortunately for Knicks fans, Porzingis refused to agree to an extension with the Pelicans and the deal fell apart. Fast-forwarding to today, Davis remains in New Orleans as the NBA trade deadline approaches.

"The New York Knicks were the No. 1 choice of Anthony Davis last week on the day that Kristaps Porzingis was traded to Dallas … but Porzingis’ unwillingness to commit to a long-term deal with New Orleans killed that deal."https://t.co/HxtmU38FRy

— Knicks Film School (@KnickFilmSchool) February 5, 2019

The Lakers had been considered the subsequent leading candidate to acquire Davis after the Knicks shipped Porzingis to Dallas, but the Pelicans' high demands for his services had kept any deal from being made up to this point.

Report: Lakers pull out of Anthony Davis trade talks

Any deal to Los Angeles that does occur would have to be contingent on Davis signing a contract extension with the Lakers; otherwise, he could simply opt out and leave in free agency after next season. If no deal is made with the Lakers, the Knicks could have an outside chance to pull off a deal at the last minute since Davis hasn't played for the Pelicans since he requested to be traded.

With few assets remaining, the chances of Davis suiting up for the Knicks anytime soon are essentially zero, but the pipe dream can still exist for 2020. No action is the best action for Knicks fans at this point.

This is why drafting is so vital. Had the Lakers and Sixers choose Fox instead of Ball and Tatum instead of Fultz, none of these trades probably happen.
Right but it might end up working out for the Sixers in the long run to have missed on Tatum. Give credit to Brand for the trade.

It was on the front page of the daily newspaper today. But when I tried to find it online this was the only site I could find it on
Oh I believe the story in how it was reported. I just think the agent is trying to do damage control at this point. Shit has gotten out of hand and I think they just made up that N.Y. story on the fly in case Davis doesn't go to L.A. Don't wanna make him seem like too much of a spoiled baby who only wants to play with Lebron. Not buying it though that's the only spot the nigga wants to go. Sick of these help me out ass niggas man. :smh:

Knicks did not believe Kristaps Porzingis was a franchise star and were shopping him for a month before sitdown that lasted 2-3 minutes

Kristaps Porzingis provided a list of four desired destinations when he requested a trade in a shotgun meeting, but the Knicks had already quietly negotiated a deal after shopping the Latvian for a month.

These details were revealed on Tuesday by the New York Times, which portrayed both Porzingis and the Knicks as ready to move on from one another long before he was officially traded to the Mavericks.

According to the story, the Knicks became aware of Porzingis’ discontent in the beginning of January – right around the time the Daily News reported his re-signing was not guaranteed because of a desire to play for a winner.

After failing to pry Donovan Mitchell out of Utah, De’Aaron Fox out of Sacramento and Anthony Davis out of New Orleans, the Knicks settled for cap space and two first-round picks from the Mavericks for Porzingis. According to the NY Times, the Knicks could’ve pulled the trigger on the trade Wednesday evening, but first wanted to hear from Porzingis in their planned sitdown on Thursday.

Knicks hope DeAndre Jordan can recruit buddy Kevin Durant to Garden »
The meeting was a mere formality. A source told the News it lasted between two and three minutes. The Knicks wanted to pull the trigger, got the sentiment they expected from Porzingis and quickly the circumstances were leaked to the media. Within an hour of the meeting going public, news circulated that Porzingis was traded to the Mavericks. The Knicks’ front office, according to a source, did not believe in Porzingis as the franchise star. It had valid reasons, too: the 23-year-old is coming off ACL surgery, struggled to stay on the court previously because of other injuries and faded in the second half of seasons.

But instead of using these concerns to justify the trade, the Knicks wanted to send the message their hands were tied by Porzingis’ malcontent and his puppeteer brother. It’s an easier sell to a fanbase that idolized Porzingis, especially after years of the Knicks pumping him up as the savior of New York.

This is from the same team that employed Carmelo Anthony’s brand manager, allowed Anthony’s agency — CAA — to influence moves, employed Amar’e Stoudemire’s security guard and gave J.R. Smith’s brother a contract because he was J.R. Smith’s brother. Whether or not Porzingis deserved superstar treatment is debatable. But it was hypocritical for the Knicks to accuse him and his brother, Janis, of being too demanding.

Since Porzingis will be a restricted free agent this summer, the Knicks could’ve matched any offer. If Porzingis still declined to sign with the Knicks, he would’ve had to play next season on a drastically reduced salary to become an unrestricted free agent in 2020. The Knicks had an opportunity to sign Porzingis to a five-year deal before the season but declined to offer it.

According to the Times, Porzingis’ list of desirable destinations – delivered by his brother and agent Janis — included the Nets and Clippers. Dallas was not on the list and is gambling it can re-sign Porzingis in the summer.

Why do you thinking missing out on Tatum will help y'all in the long run?
While I agree having him would have been better especially since Fultz seems to need to see Dr, Phil en shit, I don't believe the trades we've made to shape the roster the way it is now would have happened with Tatum there that's all. It all worked out in an unconventional way in the end.
