50K for a few months worth of work, and opening one up to scouting opportunities? Can't say that's a bad thing.
Is it worth it though? Was watching the game yesterday and some of the dudes were getting hard hits. I'm pretty sure they are not getting anything close to the medical care the NFL does.

They keep wasting their money

so it makes me wonder how much they make from these failed football ventures

We have college and the NFL....we grow up on favorite teams and players and teams we hate

There's none of that in these XFL and USFL teams

and you see how much the locals care and desire football by how empty the stands are.

San Antonio wants to send a message about how they want the NFL that a whopping 1,000 people show up.....

If it gives players (and coaches) opportunities that they would otherwise not receive, why not? Like for instance, Hines Ward is getting some head coaching experience. Good for him..

good points.
i believe it's because these leagues never last long enough for fans to develop any kind of attachment to / awareness of the players.

I thought the AAF could have been a legit spring league, but they went bankrupt before their season finished...then COVID happened and fucked them and XFL 2.0 up.

I tried watching USFL last year, but hated the minimal teams and one location for their games.

At least with the XFL they have actual home fields.

Lolz 3-3 at halftime. It will take these guys a few weeks to gel for the regular season. All in all, I'm liking the presentation even if the football needs works. Decent defensive battle, horrible offensive play calling in this St. Louis/San Antonio game.

This crowd in San Antonio is hyped...all 25000 of them lolz.

Probably the biggest crowd in Spring League football history.

I will ask the mods to merge mine with your.

@TEN could your merge my thread with EPDC thread?
Honestly don't see the need since I have "New for 2023" in the title of this thread and your thread was from three years ago with possible merger with CFL that never came to fruition...

@TEN what say you?

Watch the NFL steal this shit.

It's not like the NFL didn't know about it. They gave their blessings to the XFL, USFL and even the old AAF a few years ago. They use those leagues as guinea pigs.

The NFL adopted rules from the 80's USFL with the replay review and 2 point conversation. They also adopted rules from their WLAF/ NFL Europe league.
