But reality is that PSSR is making a lot of games look worse.
Now with that said, PSSR is ever evolving and getting tweaks/updates like it's PC technology counterparts...... so in the next X months until GTA VI is actually released it may all be fixed.
Problem is GTA Vi won't be on PC for at least a yr after consoles and if history is to be an estimate of the future more like 2 years after consoles
Graphics cards, builds and prices change significantly in 12 - 24 months....

PS5's graphics were outdated when the specs were announced which is weird considering for PS3 and 4 their graphics were slightly advanced / on par with average PC rigs.
Now, I know that model is/was not sustainable.....
But I have a 2020 laptop with more power than the PS5......
I think we're on the brink of consoles no longer being a thing. With the popularity of Xbox game pass/ steam/ ps plus growing.....and the advancements in cloud storage/ data centers....

Next - gen / latest gen consoles are not a sustainable model. As AI/ graphics tech continues to increase exponentially consoles won't be able to maintain standards/ catch up AND stay affordable....
Asking consumers to continue to spend $500-$700 for a console that's already behind. When they can spend $900 - $1100 for a decent computer than can do more than play games and stream content AND is graphically superior on said games.......
I'll make a correction. There will always be a market for PC games and to some extent consoles..... but I can imagine consoles being phased out in the next 20-30 yrs.

Exactly, that's such a weird statement. It will 100% run on PS5/series s/x base consoles why would anyone believe it wouldn't run better if even slightly on the pro

PSSR is causing a bottleneck and actually producing like a 30% drop in performance compared to the regular system
I i say 20 - 30 because Xbox at the very least will be done in like 15 years. I don't see them doing more than 2 more console cycles. Sony may hold out for 20 or so years, but Nintendo will definitely be holding out for as long as possible. They don't make advanced graphics systems so they have a sweet price point and they haven't built out cloud/online play to the extent that Xbox has.....
The problem with consoles is that advanced tech/ next gens are all money pits...... why have an immediate red product on the books when streaming is more profitable.......
Game Stop and the like will be hanging on, but eventually they'll be closing. ..

I was responding to the message responding to that particular post, didn't see any articles posted.
But I did go back and look at the Forbes article and two others you posted in a subsequent post(if I missed one please link it and I'll check it out)
I didn't see anything about PS5 pro having some overreaching problem causing a 30% drop in performance, I did see certain games have suffered from bad implementation of pssr(which developers don't even need to use really) and that they'll eventually be updated and patched.
I never expected GTA6 at 60fps on pro, I've said as much on this thread when others where saying it would, but I think I'd trust rockstar to have it running as well as the other consoles plus a bump in image quality/draw distance or some smaller effects like that. I don't think we'll get 60 until next gen/PC release.
