HuhI am beginning to wonder if 50 Cent is a decision maker. Cause he really made this decision?
Also the actor who plays Drew is not gay. At least he is saying he isn't.

high art, it is not. but, i love it.this show is hot garbage im sorry.this ep seemed forced and fake.i mean every ep been bad but this was the worst.they trying to make riq a sex symbol lol and its not working.the teacher part is just dumb on all levels.she hear him screwing a student but still bang him after all that bull at the dinner table.poor acting ,writing,etc....tasha using the phone all in the open and no room checks lol ,eth and cain the ONLY ones that act mary j is not believable at all .sacs getting out of his lies and getting ol girl to spy on him etc. garbage not gonna touch the gay part but yea cut that out power.
i went to unnamed HBCU for a minute with a cat from NYC. he was gay. er'body knew he was gay. in fact, he was kind of 'king of the gays' at that time on campus. saw him whoop Cincy cat's ass for talkin reckless. for i'm in the feds 15 years later - here this cat comes. Turns out, his family was movin weight in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. he was gettin sugar daddies and using their places as stash spots. some real queen of the south TV script shit. point is, the world is the world. we ALL know gay people. some of them are choir directors. some of them do hair. others of them sell dope and do gangster shit. that a fictional story based on Black life would include a prominent gay character makes sense.
And let them shoehorn away. they know their audience. shit, they know there are some bgol cats who wont bring themselves to look at gay porn, but will sit next to their wife and watch the Power episode with 2 men kissing and fantasize about it later.
the point is, he exists. and it's not outlandish to have a gay character as the part of a story. you can make all the qualms you want about this detail or the other regarding how this one is written on Power. But, we can make qualms and nitpick about all the writing of all the characters on Power.A college campus, even an HBCU is a safe space compared to an organized family/drug crew running the streets of New York. That gay dude at your college was also probably very disciplined, especially if he knew how to move weight across the south, making connections and being able to swindle closeted sugar daddies for something more than sex and gifts.
The character of Dru is emotional and was off on a cloud after looking eyes with the first masculine fag he saw. He's weak and can be manipulated and given what we've seen about this family, which is shown to be violent but disciplined, an emotional lovesick fag seems out of place.

did you watch it..? will you continue to watch it? did you comment on it..? will you continue to comment on it..??They also do not NEED to have every character remind us of another character. Shit is lame.
Baby Tommy and Baby Ghost again? Why Tyrik can't have a 3 man crew? Shit.
did you watch it..? will you continue to watch it? did you comment on it..? will you continue to comment on it..??
i wish i was talented enough to write something as lame as Power Book II and get people to continue watch and break records.
point is, its getting watched, and talked about even by you who hates on it so much. they are doing their jobs. good for them.It is more so the production value that keeps people watching. NOT the writing.
It is everything together because if it was low budget on 380p.
No one would watch this shit.

the curly head on,she looks like the other women teacher almost.I missed that the teacher was boning a student. Which girl was it?
bro you're wrong,it don't mean there doing a good job cause were talking about it i mean the show is crap period. you seem like one of the writers or something..people can have their own opinion about the show thats what makes this board fun reading other people's comments about shows and adding own opinion to make sence of things.i mean no disrespect i'm just saying let that man hate on the show god knows i do but that's just own opinion bro.point is, its getting watched, and talked about even by you who hates on it so much. they are doing their jobs. good for them.
you miss my point - the fact that we are paying attention to it (watching it), and posting about it (getting other people to watch it) means they are doing a good job. they are not trying to win emmys. they are trying to win eyeballs/$$$ and they are doing it.bro you're wrong,it don't mean there doing a good job cause were talking about it i mean the show is crap period. you seem like one of the writers or something..people can have their own opinion about the show thats what makes this board fun reading other people's comments about shows and adding own opinion to make sence of things.i mean no disrespect i'm just saying let that man hate on the show god knows i do but that's just own opinion bro.
it's amazing that after all these years, gay characters still move y'all to be stressed out and want to lash out in message board screeds. there are gay people in the world. there are gay people in our communities. there are gay people in our families. it follows that there will be gay people in our stories. none of those things have any effect on whether or not you or your son or nephew or uncle or pops are gay. none of those things should make you feel a way, unless, of course, you feel a way about yourself, that makes you uncomfortable - for some of y'all, i'm certain this is the case.

and i'm never wrong.
No. The one before this.I got to stop multi-tasking when I am watching tv.
He fucked the student in this episode?
Wow.
For me it's more that the producers/writers right now are almost obviously trying to "catch up" for lost time by just throwing it in there regardless of how it fits into the storyline/episode. Case in point, Mary J's son and the guy from art class. You can tell that they just wanted to have a gay sex scene, so they just forced it in (no pun intended, lol) instead of oh, I don't know.... using competent writers to at least make it flow with the storyline better. I totally get that there are gay people in all walks of life including the drug trade, but they can at least not do it this way.
totally off topic of what I'm replying to, but damn, the whole scene at Tariq's "good girl" friend's house was the worst display of acting I've seen in a long time. Anytime fuckin Tariq is the best actor in a scene with that many people, it's a problem. ...and Meth is impressing me as an actor more than any of the actors in that scene... people who I presume aren't rappers turned actors. That's a damn shame. I know Meth has actually been putting in the work, so not dissing him at all here.
One thing I noticed recently, the actress who played Lauren's Mom also had a speaking part a few seasons ago when Kanan robbed the jewelry store in DC with Jukebox's crew. Now if the writers were really talented, they would take advantage of that and keep the continuity going by showing Lauren's Mom sabotaging her chance at winning the Fellowship because she's scared to let her daughter go to DC since last time she was there she witnessed a robbery/homicide. That would allow Tariq to win the Fellowship and get closer to graduating early and getting his inheritance.
But of course, the writers aren't that talented.
you, @TENT are an intellectual dynamo. Absolutely brilliant. You have no points that no one is missing. Your points are irrelevant.
We commenting on the show and criticizing it and you coming in for NO REASON.
Commenting on our comments and catching feelings.
You aint posting about how you feel the show is great.
You posting about how you feels someone's opinion is wrong.
And you wrong they do want to win Emmys.
That is why 50 was yelling about the Emmy nominations.

yeah the parents couldnt act their way out of a box, that guidance counselor is horrible like he's auditioning for days of our lives, dude is garbage and probably blew a gay exec to get on the show, and the woman counselor doesn't seem realistic in her actions and words. they made tariq look like a perennial emmy winner and he's basic at this point, and that's at playing the role he's in.For me it's more that the producers/writers right now are almost obviously trying to "catch up" for lost time by just throwing it in there regardless of how it fits into the storyline/episode.
