If it's a classic live Prince solo you want, it's hard to fuck with this.

oops/ I didn't mention Stevie Woner, and just out of respect, I have to come back and put that in.

Clapton is just nasty! Prince's was different and just as good , if not better. Both played an extremely emotional solo. This is just a song that a guitarist could pour his heart into if he has the skills. George Harrison would be proud to see what these guys are doing with his song, it's a classic!
I am going to have to go see him in concert. I heard he puts on a show.
The only reason this isn't the greatest solo ever is because of Steve Vai
THIS is the greatest solo ever
Granted this is HIS song and he's practiced/performed it thousands of times...
It was alright, ive heard much better solo's, Prince kinda goes off the beat and tone, and almost sounds like he's playing another song.
Your ears do not deceive you, fam. Steve Vai openly admitted he lifted riffs from Jimi for that cut. Jimi Hendrix >>> Steve Vai
this sounds a lot like Jimi's Woodstock joint
its great though

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert, Tom Petty and friends pay tribute to George Harrison with a version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
Prince comes on at 3 minutes in, and lays down what is considered to be one of the greatest musical moments in rock and roll history. Guitar virtuoso, very beautiful, very impressive.
