When most of us attend elementary school, we are taught to memorize information without our proper context or conceptualization as for its application in the real world. I remember asking the teacher why must we learn algebra and she said to pass the class and graduate, and you need to graduate in order to get a job or go to college. Also there was a greater emphasis on following the rules over logic and critical thinking, things I was taught to me later in college.
In my opinion we were trained to be workers and soldiers, because of the emphasis in following protocols and being obedient.
I also attended SP classes for the gifted when I was younger and our education was way different, where they emphasized critical thinking. But because of my jackass father they found a loophole to get me out, forcing me to attend regular inner city school, but by doing so It allowed me to see how they get down and how the system is rigged.
