Black Music Month QLS Classic: Biz Markie
<p>In 2017, Questlove Supreme interviewed a Hip Hop legend, the only Biz Markie. This two-hour episode covers TV shows like Yo Gabba Gabba, his legendary record collection, his brotherhood with The Beastie Boys, and the secrets he will never share. There is alive and there is living. The state Biz Markie was in the past...whatever, he was ALIVE, but he wasn't LIVING
He is at peace finally.
But artists never truly die. Every time we play one of his songs we bring him back to life

When your idols from your childhood starts to die, shit really starts to get scary man.....
You're right about that.^^^^
That's why we have to celebrate them and cherish them while they still here.
though he didn't rap in this video

RIP
was watching this the other dayThis is actually one of my favorite "Biz" videos, even though it's not Biz.
Just goes to show his influence, even amongst his fellow rappers.
I would love to hear the stories behind how this video/song came to be & how Biz actually got his rap name.
We really lost a lot with Biz passing. A true talent at hip-hop, not just rap. Biz did it all, DJing, stayed fly with the gear, graffiti, he was basically the zeitgeist of 80s hip-hop!
And the stories & history we just lost, man....
This is a hard one, y'all. I feel for Shante, Cool V, Kane & his wife.
R.I.P. Biz Markie.
Damn....
