Remember hearing the first time in bootcamp January 88. We were marching and someone who worked on base drove by pumping picking b+&$#@$. Two months later I get to my A school and buy his tape. My favorite song is the biz is going off.

I'm broken hearted at the loss of one of my most loved album artist's, the diabolical Biz Markie.
I'd buy your album's the day they arrived on these UK shores, Biz.
In return I knew I was listening to real hiphop and a unique, one of a kind, totally original talent.
Each album kept me happy until the next one, and along with every Chubb Rock and Lord Finesse album, I had to have em all!
Love you Biz, Peaceful Journey.

its still appropriate to put here
RIP

This is actually one of my favorite "Biz" videos, even though it's not Biz.

Just goes to show his influence, even amongst his fellow rappers.

I would love to hear the stories behind how this video/song came to be & how Biz actually got his rap name.

We really lost a lot with Biz passing. A true talent at hip-hop, not just rap. Biz did it all, DJing, stayed fly with the gear, graffiti, he was basically the zeitgeist of 80s hip-hop!

And the stories & history we just lost, man....

This is a hard one, y'all. I feel for Shante, Cool V, Kane & his wife.

R.I.P. Biz Markie.

Damn....
