A TRUE music legend. I'm so sorry to hear he has moved on. EWF's music was/is amongst the mightiest of all time...Life affirming, socially conscious, funky and powerfully beautiful.
Although we went to school in different eras, Maurice and Phillip Bailey and I studied under the same genius music professor in junior college.
When I attended, in that professor's Jazz Composition class, my classmates included Maurice's younger brother Fred White (drums) and Hassan Khan (bassist, ex-husband of Chaka).
I pray good rest to a GIANT.

Man...my girl just told me on the way back from Picadilly's this evening. We just stopped driving in the street and our neighborhood and looked out the winshield...then we finally drove on home.
Believe it or not, I was singing one of their songs earlier today and it was weird because I had not heard it on the radio and was trying to figure out at the time why I was singing it...maybe the stratosphere knew.
