Here is a little history for individuals that are fans of the movies Top Gun and Top Gun: Maverick.



The first Top Gun competition was held in 1949. The white pilots competed with the latest state of art aircraft while the African-American pilots were forced to compete with older obsolete planes. After 3 days of competition The Tuskegee Airmen team of : Captain Alva Temple, 1st Lieutenant Harry Stewart, 1st Lieutenant James Harvey, and 1st Lieutenant Halbert Alexander (alternate) were announced the winners.



There was dead silence in the room. Not one of their colleagues applauded this accomplishment. The victory was swept under the rug and the trophy was not seen by the public for 55 years. Introducing the real Top Guns.

Its absolutely insane that they buried this story for so long. I wonder if Tom Cruise knows this and if so why he didn't acknowledge it in any way shape or form. With a little wider distribution this story could cause him a major backlash. I'm down for it too.

Trained by Hall of Famer Eddie Futch, Mr. Gordy would fight three times at Los Angeles' Olympic Auditorium.

After 17 bouts (12 wins-2 draws-3 losses-5 KO's) Berry Gordy was drafted in 1950 and served two years in the Korean War. When discharged from the Army, Berry Gordy returned to Detroit where he would work and write songs, and in due course create the most successful Record company of the era - MOTOWN Records. "Hitsville USA"
