RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawkscornerback Richard Sherman blasted the NFL on Tuesday for continuing to schedule Thursday night games.

"Poopfest. It's terrible," Sherman said. "We got home like 1 o'clock in the morning, something like that on Monday and then you've got to play again. Congratulations, NFL, you did it again. But they've been doing it all season, so I guess we're the last ones to get the middle finger."

The Seahawks visited the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. They host the Los Angeles Rams at home on Thursday.

Sherman said his body will likely be only 50 to 60 percent recovered by the time the Seahawks have to play again.

He has taken the league to task on a number of things this season, but he said Thursday night games are among the top five issues he has with the NFL.

"Because it's just no regard," Sherman said. "It's hypocritical, as I've stated before. They make this huge stance about player safety. Then you put the players in tremendous danger.

"We'll be well-aware come the next CBA negotiations about things like this. There's really not much you can do right now. It's part of the revenue, etc., etc. And the league probably has something else up their sleeve. They might have a Friday night game planned. Who knows?"

Playing a physically demanding game like that without letting their bodies heal after playing on Sunday is dangerous for them, especially if it causes an injury or wear and tear because they're not being given time to rest/heal.

He knew when he signed the contract that games were scheduled on Thursdays, shit didn't just start this season, just like for the most part people know whats going on their job when they take the job. I watch them, but the Thursday night games are always horrible. The players don't get another time to recover or plan for the game. It's a bad product. Sherman is right.. it needs to be fixed. And yes... that's a lot of physical abuse on the body and not enough time to recover. If you play on Thursday, you shouldn't have had a game on the previous Sunday. That's just not enough time for football players to recover.

I can see some of yall niccas have never played a high level of football, to play a game Sunday then to play on a Thursday is crazy, the day after a game you have to get a lifting session in just to help get the soreness out the body. Usually thr first weeks practice is on a Wednesday and those 3 days of practice are needed to be conditioned to play on a Sunday because they day before the game is just a walk through
