The NFL players union needs to step up. MLB has the best benefits because their union pushes shit and will go on strike collectively. But the NFL? These mfers bend over and take it.When they did go on strike mfers started going broke. I really casnt feel sorry for them when so many of them are just plain ignorant.

I can see some of yall niccas have never played a high level of football, to play a game Sunday then to play on a Thursday is crazy, the day after a game you have to get a lifting session in just to help get the soreness out the body. They should even have a first weeks practice until Wednesday and those 3 days of practice are needed to be conditioned to play on a Sunday because they day before the game is just a walk through

That's why you have backups. If you don't feel like playing tell the coach. The backup will take your job. No more Thursday games for you. Problem solved.

Actually, you may have several people in this thread who have played sports and would give they left nut for a shot to play on Thursday night for a cool million dollars. Shit, the scores are so low it's more like a day off, you ain't even got to do shit but show up.

The NFL has plenty of issues, I'm not a fan of Thursday games, but I'm also not a fan of niggas complaining because there aren't enough bubbles in their champagne.

Doesn't mean their safety would be considered, the product would be watchable, or that they would want to do it coming off a sunday game. Thursday games are atrocious and represent the high level of greed that's ruining the product.

Agreed. Agreed, agreed, agreed.

But, I'm looking at it from a perspective of a cat like Jaquizz Rodgers or Christine Micheal or Aldon Smith. There is no other game coming up. It's the game you are playing right now. There are no guarantees. Lord willing and the creek don't rise you make it to another Sunday.

Thats the point. . . . . . he and other players want to be physically able to keep playing and make it to another Sunday so they don't want to play a game this brutal twice in four days which puts them at risk.

Could you run up and down the field full speed, or close to it every snap??? Cut back and forth, bump with anothe world class athelete for 30 plus minutes a game then turn around and do it again 4 days later??? Naaa... Fuck all that, the average person talking this nonsense couldnt jog 5 miles without stopping and do it a week later.
Yes for 14 million a year. That is not even close to what hard labor is. Imagine riding on the back of stank as garbage truck or maintenance man or janitor cleaning toilets for 14 hours a day for $10 an hour.

People have real issues than a worrying about a dude who could retire tomorrow before 30

Responses in here sound like middle-aged white men talking about black athletes. "Just shut up and play."

If you think about it the argument against what he's saying is similar to the one used against Kapernick such as "if you don't like it you can leave" and using his income as a reason for him not to air any grievances.

Lol, making wage comparisons is a false equivalence. I know trolling is your schtick but this is poor even by your standards. It's not about the kind of job, it's about the risk to your health. You can't compare cleaning toilets or collecting trash to the taxing detrimental effects football takes on the human body.

Stop.

So Kaepernicks issue is the same as Sherman complaining about playing on Thursday night? It's the same thing? Did Kap complain that they should stop playing the national anthem?!?! Stop it Dude seriously... Thats the second reach you've tried to make that has absolutely NOTHING to do with this thread topic. Let your argument stand on its own merit for real... You're kind of embarrassing yourself with the 'analogies' you are attempting to make... :smh:

It isn't just about him. A lot of players have complained about this, just not as high profile as him.

Dude made $875,000 for that one Thursday night game. That is more than most will make in 20 years
Its not even about the money for me Bruh.... I don't think he should be a slave to anything because of his salary, but again, he KNEW ONE Thursday night game a season was a possibility when he agreed to play for this employer...
If it's that much of an issue, he should find a new like of work end of story...

...unfortunately, there are a lot of players who would gladly take the place of the players complaining and play on a thursday night when they KNEW it was a possibility they would have to. :hmm:

What are you talking about "risk to your health"? If he gets hurt he is still guaranteed millions and never has to work a day in his life.

Damn...

Thread is funny, many of us here don't care for the Thursday games because of the play is shitty...

The players and coaches don't like the day because of the preparation disadvantages...

Others well spoken players express thoughts on the scheduling(playing late Sunday then Thursday)....but it's a problem

You're missing the point completely but as stated earlier, that's your schtick. You and others are going on about how much they make when that has absolutely nothing to do with their concern for their health.

The next time a police officer complains about the risk of getting killed on their job, or doctors complain about being forced to work longer hours, we should just say "you get paid enough, shut up and stop complaining" right?

Others got that and will get this.

We clearly don't and won't see eye to eye so it is what it is but the argument you and Brownturd are making IMO is based more that mans income/profession/fame (even though you try to say it isn't) than his actual grievances which you haven't really addressed or considered in this thread.

But again I don't really do the back and forth too much when its obvious we don't agree so I'll leave it at that.

Dude the whole reason these Dudes are paid what they are is due to the risk of their CHOSEN field... He can also get hurt in a game on Sundays so... what's next, shorten the game entirely? How about converting the league to a flag football league instead of tackle... These Dudes pride themselves on being the league of boom, known for big hits and shit, and now all of a sudden.... nevermind, cool. The league should change a contractually obligated game day which helps pay these players salaries because they don't want to be... nevermind... :hmm:

To me it is about the money for one simple reason. People with money tend to lose perspective.

It is a dude at the train station who worked an extra day without a day off and he has nothing to show for it. Shitty pay and no benefits

Richard Sherman played a Thursday night game that would have been enough money for many to retire but he is complaining. Playing Thursday night games will allow him to retire at the ripe age of 33 years old.

There are many people who have worked 10 days without a day off for little pay.

Points that make no sense in the context of the discussion will go over mind head, or better yet under it, so you are right...

I haven't based my opinion on his salary except to dialog on his point. I've actually made my point concerning ANY job. Working at a company is a choice, if you don't like the conditions of your job, you quit and find one thats more conducive to your liking, end of story.

So, what about the players that may enjoy playing on Thursday nights, fuck them because Richard said he didn't like it?

And as for this over my head nonsense, there is a huge difference between telling Richard to deal with the contract HE signed when Thursday night games were a KNOWN scheduling possibility and Kap protesting social injustice by sitting during the anthem, unless you are telling me that Shermans issue is a civil rights movement as well. Before he signed his current contract, he'd played on thursdays already... So, why didn't he address this shit then? Why didn't he negotiate with the Seahawks or threaten to sit out of negotiations if they didn't exclude him from having to play on Thursdays?

My point is very clear... You on the other hand are trying to mix themes and context to further your point... so yep, nonsense does go over my head, and always will... :hmm:

His perspective is off. There are many people who have worked 10 days straight fam on some hard labor and have nothing to show for it.

He played a game of football on Thursday and took home $875,000 dollars. He was well compensated for being inconvenienced

He has every right to try to improve his employer and better his union that he involved in; its a shitty product on thursday, hell its almost just as bad on sunday; but those thursday games need to stop asap...
