Damn
damn
real talk...I appreciated them then but not as much as I do now..back as a kid I always favored "harder" shit..bootcamp, onyx, wu, M.O.P, mobb etc. But now as i became older and started listening to more jazz I developed a renewed appreciation for them
R.I.P Phife... remember he wasn't looking too good on that "Beats, rhymes and life" documentary a few years back
Same here on the harder music, but some the music I favored then did not age as well as Tribe music. ATCQ aged like a fine wine. Electric relaxation sounds just as fresh today as it did in 93-94.

I didn't dig 'em at first, but for a different reason. The first song I'd heard was "I Left My Wallet...", and I said to myself, "No, thank you!". I pretty much wrote them off after that song. And then one night on my way home from work, this college station played "Footprints", and I was like, "Whoa! This is dope, AND a Donald Byrd sample to boot?! Sign me up!", and I've been a fan ever since. For the record, I still hate "I Left My Wallet..."
Same on El Segundo. But I drive through the city of El Segundo here in LA, I find myself chanting that shit now.
