yeah Uncle Chuck I wasn't ready to share with the board...
but I was gonna PM fam like you with the news.
I was recently given the HIGHEST blessing possible and became a father again to a wondrously beautiful baby girl
Her mother ...the real Wonder Woman had a very difficult time so I was sleeping at the hospital borrowing my friends car and driving to 3 different houses to keep my family together as much as possible.
and then just when I think it was over...I get a call to come in to the pediatrician's office and BOOM
We knew it was possible but since the older girls were without the trait...and this one was COMPLETELY unexpected we took a chance.
Due to complications we couldn't test in utero.
And unfortunately she has the most aggressive form of sickle cell disease.
I was very hesitant to share this publicly but with this recent death of Prodigy and a few PMs I have received I think its important especially as a Black community that we talk MUCH MORE about this.
MANY MANY people are still VERY uninformed and also unknowingly carry the sickle cell trait.
So I hope to start a real thread with information and maybe even donation links to further research. (and hope the mods monitor it closely for no fuckery)
I would be lying if I told you that we all good right now we aren't.
But late nights in the hospital or at home - bgol absurdity held me down.
and more importantly.
@Mixd has been a real brother to me during this time
Again I know I say this once a year like clockwork...
bgol is so much more, no place on the entire Internet is like it. This a REAL community and I got a lot of love and respect for the members I have known over the years.
Please continue to build grow and cultivate it...
we can still talk sh*t and have fun but lets never lose our way and let trolls and negative influences destroy what we have ALL built together.
peace to all my bgol brothers and sisters.
