they need more black superstars..

they shouldntve ran mike vick out the league,

and give "black" qbs the same chances you give the "white" ones....

folks getting tired of that blatant racist favortism...

if tony romo was a brother he wouldve been forced into retirement...

If Tony Romo was black no way he would've made it this far

I know he is technically not white but he still a CAC to me and majority of everyone else of all races

And if he were black he DAMN SURE wouldn't have a chance of getting his gig back now

Would've been pushed to the side long ago

Not still limping along making 20 mill a year not accomplishing shit

Man I just had a bad thought...

What if the NFL is propping Dallas up because they need a popular story to overshadow all the protests?

Dallas is one of the least penalized teams this year. Coincidence?

lol there's more cord cutters now than ever b4 that's 1 of the reasons... all primetime games should be great teams not whoever the fuck u decide should get a shot(browns, dolphins, raiders, jets, rams, titans, texans are juss some of the teams that should never be on primetime)

Is this MF serious! People know that important games are rigged! This MF basicaly stole 4 billion dollars from american citizen. Making Cam throw that fucking Superbowl last year.

the officiating is the reason more than anything.
people being awarded fumbles
people not being called for p.i.
all sorts of BIG calls from refs that go against teams and make you feel the shit is fixed.

Man I just had a bad thought...

It's the fact that the league tries to push story lines like the WWF but acts like they don't. If a team doesn't make a lot of revenue from fans which translates to revenue on televised games then that team will forever get fucked up calls at vital points in the game to lose to the team who brings in that money.

That's why you always see certain teams going deep into the playoffs each year. That's why you see the league over looking things like certain coaches running along the sidelines tripping players or running out on the field and not be severely punished and if they are even punished it's normally Monday morning after the game has been decided.

How many games as of late have been decided by phantom penalties or out right over looked penalties? People are not slow. Unless it's their team benefiting from the fuckery, then it's business a usual.

The broadcasts are boring. Not exactly the games but the broadcasts. Wack conversations with nothing to do with football. Not following whats actually going on on the field. Perceived bias toward big market teams.

Its too easy now to find a recording later on with all that shyt stripped out.

Come to think about it. The NUMBER ONE THING that's killing the NFL is one word POLITICS.

Sports is suppose to be an escape from everyday life.

Once it became vogue to have commentators lecture fans on issues *domestic violence, gun violence, and spankings*, that becomes a big turn off for the fans.

Right now, I barely watch ESPN anymore. Only time is during college football, and I do not watch pregames anymore.

10 years ago, you couldn't change my tv from ESPN.

Add that with all the officiating, and then this year's protest. No wonder this is happening.

I highly doubt "overexposure" would matter if the product on the field is good.

Politics been in the NFL,every since they made the players stand up for the national anthem,8 years ago.Remember, before 2008 the players was in the locker room during the national anthem and that's when the NFL decided to make the league and players look more patriotic they made the players stand up during the national anthem.

Politics have always been part of sports, but this was the first time the NFL had to really deal with it.Me and you know, how white folks don't like the spotlight on them. They rather ignore it and act like police brutality don't exist until it affect them or someone close to them.

What Kap did was brilliant, because it showed that we don't live in a post-racial Amerikkka like white folks always claim we're in and it shows how black issues never gets addressed in this country.

We have billionaire owners that's always bragging about what politician they know and yet they can't get in the ear of these same politicians to make laws to protect us from these race soldiers.

Let's not get carried away. Football is still king and it always will be. This year they ran into 2 presidential debates that they can't compete with due to Trump being the most outrageous candidate ever. Last week the cowboys vs Packers drew 28 milly.the NFL is still a beast

But the bar for football is THAT HIGH. A drop in viewership is a red flag. It's easy to fix too. Let ninjas celebrate without the stupid penalties, Cut out the London and Thursday night games. Bring back the kickoff and stop being so fucking preachy. It's a gladiator sport you know got damn well theh don't give a fuck about.these dudes getting.concussions or talking about breast cancer

ratings for everything is going down. Football is still the most watched sport and will be as long as people are paying to be in fantasy football leagues. Tying the league pass to bum ass direct tv is an issue. Red zone is the new age way to watch football. I don't know about you guys but I get together with a bunch of people and watch the games. They can't measure the 20 people at my friends house watching the games.

Also NFL related programming on the networks are just butt cheek . I remember when I was really into the NFL I would be up and watching the pre shows and the post game shows as well. Now I basically just tune in at 1:00 pm.

Also they need to make these dumb Thursday games for teams that have a bye the week before. It's messed up having these guys play 4 days after playing.

League is whack because white men are taking it too personal that they are inferior. They want all white qb's but when they get bodied, they change the rules so you can sack em but not really sack em. Score on a white boy too strong you get a taunting flag or fine. Keap is part of it. Coaches exposing themselves are racists. Owners too. It's a bitch league to keep white men relevant. Mike Tomlin made you forget all about the big jaw dude who used to coach the steeelers. Hypersensitive asses can't play in the same league as men of color.

I just watch my teams games maybe a divisional opponent or someone else if their game is on before my teams.

A lot of good reasons stated in here and I think all of them are valid reason for the dip in rating. I actually hope ratings continue to dip so the NFL can start making some changes to improve things.

The game has just been boring. People put a lot of time and energy into this sport and it doesn't deliver the entertainment value that it hypes itself to have. It's like you already know what to expect from each franchise year after year it's become predictable and mundane.

I guess this is what Goodell and all his cronies wanted. This is the NFL they've made.

Because the league is generally wack. And you can't touch nobody. RBs aren't being featured. Officiating. Etc.

Fuck Goodell. Fuck the Patriots. And fuck the NFL. Go Raiders.

And you if u wanna be down wit Mobb deep then fuck you too!

That's all apart of the why this is happening.

Again, politics suppose to play second fiddle to the actual sport. Now it's reversed.

That's the turnoff.

Add how the game is being played/called. Then you have rumblings about boycotts.

Politics have always been part of sports though, this isn't new

Also,I don't think football is playing second fiddle to Kap's protest, hell they don't even show the players protest anymore..The reason, why it's still a story, because you have high school, junior high, and other professional athletes supporting Kap.Not only did it spread like wildfire, white folks didn't expect him to get this much support, but overall it's not overtaken football...imo

In your opinion.

The perception is that it has. It's not just kap that's fueling this. Politics were used as a humanizing tool for the politicians when it comes to sports. You are correct about that. However, once you start having commentators lecturing the audience. Sooner, or later you will have a backlash. It's inevitable to be honest.

No one is saying that politics never was a part of the NFL. What I'm saying, its getting too much for the regular joe who just wants to have a beer, some wings, and watch football.

Not to mention, a lot of parents do not want/feel the need to explain every damn thing some commentator has said about some political situation.

That's another thing that's fueling this. The parental aspect....

The fact that they tried to blame it on taunting is hilarious!! How about ratings being low because most of the games/teams arent interesting.

Lets see.....who were the big names over the last few years: Payton: retired, BeastMode: retired, Megatron: retired, Aaron Rodgers/Packers: sucks, Cam Newton/Panthers: sucks, Seahawks: not as scary as before, ODB: most of his highlights are of him doing gay shit with the kickers net.

Where are your personalities??? Where are the EXCITING players? Out of all these rookies...whose character or skill set really stands out? The media are pumping up a lot of these rookies (like Wentz), but truthfully....none of them are doing out of the norm type stuff. Most expected E. Elliot to own in Dallas behind that OL. Wheres the shocker in that one??

Where are the teams that you look at and say, "MAN, thats a good ass team!!" Not many. Most of the top teams this year arent interesting teams/that come from "big cities" (Vikings). You can point to the Cowboys, but that stuff in Dallas happens every regular season, but doesnt carry over into the playoffs. The Patriots are still owning....but imho...people (outside of Boston) are tired of them and want something new.

All the injuries.... This has been a sucky NFL year so far with a ton of wack/lopsided games. I think things will pick up when the playoffs roll around. But we wont see a major bump until next season; when players become healthy....get off suspension....new batch of rookies...coaching moves....etc.

I have a feeling that Dallas is about to be the big story of the year.

They need one of the old dynasties to stand up right about now.

Jim Irsay speaks out against protests, did he cut Antonio Cromartie over it?

89971b2164c6daf99c7467327f12a4e7

Antonio Cromartie took a knee during the national anthem before the Colts cut him

Owners have mostly been quiet about the national-anthem protests staged by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and others.

But Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay isn’t one to keep his opinions to himself.

Irsay doesn’t like the protests. In a story about declining television ratings, Irsay told USA Today’s Jarrett Bell his feelings about Kaepernick and others.

“I think it’s the wrong venue,” Irsay told USA Today. “It hasn’t been a positive thing. What we all have to be aware of as players, owners, PR people, equipment managers, is when the lights go on we are entertainment. We are being paid to put on a show. There are other places to express yourself.”

That doesn’t indicate Irsay was speaking specifically about the impact the protests have had on television ratings, but it’s a rare statement from an NFL owner against the protests (and it’s probably fair to assume some owners believe the protests are affecting ratings).

Irsay’s comment also brings some attention to a roster move the Colts made earlier this year.

As Gregg Doyel of the Indianapolis Star points out, the only Colts player who has taken a knee during the anthem was cornerback Antonio Cromartie. Cromartie was suddenly cut on Oct. 4 after a Colts loss at London. Doyel wrote that he wondered at the time if the move was over the protest. Terricka Cromartie, Antonio’s wife, wrote on Instagram after Irsay’s statement that she felt her husband was cut over protests. She also said Antonio was warned to not protest.

“one things for sure I know my husband was told Not to take a Knee and he went with his heart and he took one,” Terricka wrote on Instagram, according to the New York Post. “And that cost him his Job.. and Clearly this Statement backs that up.”

There are many reasons to cut a player, and the 32-year-old Cromartie was unsigned for months before the Colts added him and he hasn’t been picked up anywhere else. He started four games, but didn’t play well. He was viewed as an injury replacement when he signed. But after Irsay’s comments on protests, the Colts cutting the only player who protested doesn’t look like a coincidence.

Irsay wasn’t the only owner, at this week’s meetings, who spoke about the protests to Bell. Houston Texans owner Bob McNair didn’t speak out as strongly against the protests, but understood it might have an impact on the NFL audience.

“People come to the game because they want to get away from what’s happening in their everyday lives,” McNair told USA Today. “When you bring those types of things into the scene, yeah, it will turn some people off. But the main thing we try to do is to say, ‘We recognize your concern. Let’s do something about it.’”

I quit watching because they can't lay a muthafucka out no more. Every good slobber-knocker is a flagrant, or leading with the head...blah blah..."insert penalty here". I watch hoping for a good stiff-arm cuz that's the only unpenalized contact you can get. And you can only hit certain qb's and then only just so. Fuck the NFL. I know bout head injuries and all that shit but that's why I was hooked and with that aspect being diminished, I got no reason to watch. It's like the NBA saying no more dunking.

Monday night more whack this year since Tirico left, dude in the booth with Gruden just doesn't sound right for the NFL.
I thought it was just me. He's a TERRIBLE fit. The booth has ZERO life in it, even with that clown Gruden. I have my social issues with Tirico, but as a pro, dude is a BEAST. It's painfully obvious now that HE was the one carrying that booth

Gruden was trying to fire him up last week but the guy is not a fit for football at all. The NFL has gotten so lazy they think they could have just anyone do commentary

I agree with the celebrations need to be allowed on the most part.

Many cacs don't like the Kap-related protests. Even the same ones who just praised Ali earlier this year. SOME were saying they were going to stop watching, maybe they did.

http://nypost.com/2016/10/20/anthem-protests-are-sinking-the-nfls-tv-ratings-poll-shows/

17 percent of those polled said the protests are why they aren't watching. We all know how petty cacs can be. I imagine if you expanded the poll you'd find similar results. Ratings are down 11 percent. I bet it's probably bitter cacs.

Fuck the cacs, keep the protests up.
