Sauce Walka & his artist Sayso P were shot in Memphis earlier today.

I mean all the white boys you named had some type of beef - hanging off balcony death threats security police cancelled appearances? You decide what's real. 3rd Bass STILL apologies to Hammer every day over 20 years later.

we have black artists shot killed over a misunderstanding and fake jewelery sadly.

One of the worse and most embarrassing as told by Tariq and Questo is a potential Philly Brooklyn war over the pronunciation of "gooch".

we have let hip hop down in so many ways during the years.
I hear you.

When exactly did African Americans stop having realistic names? Sauce? Seriously?
Young Scooter? Kodak?

Who actually takes people seriously with names like this?

What happened to people changing their names to something respectable, with cultural resonance?

I hear these names and automatically think of some prancing, dancing negro in $600 gym shoes and a wardrobe that looks like a box of crayons.

I must be old now.

If Curtis Jackson was going after the entire supreme team. Wouldn that make him a gangster?

Same with him going after Jimmy Henchman

And didn’t 50 have somebody kill one of The games people?

50 is gangster but he’s not a shot caller

lol. that sucka wasn't doing shit but snitchin'. he ain't go after nobody. that's why the hitter came for him. double deuce behind the ear but he bolted and took 9 on the fly

now if you talking about the real 50 that's a different story

Yes old and anal! :roflmao:

Every name has a meaning and one would have to look into any artist to know the meaning of the name that they chose.

And before you say it I already know, "You don't care that much".

But I'm talking about in general, many artist use a stage name that they use to describe themselves.

Actually, I am an artist, among other things. The few "artists" I know who go by comic book names often have nothing more to offer artistically than the name. There was one painter in Detroit a while back who named himself after a side dish. Come to find out, he was immitating (read ripping off) the style of an artist in L.A. who preceded him by at least a decade.

Artists, people who actually ARE artists, meaning they have an inordinate amount of talent in some art form with respect to the general population, don't NEED artificial names.

Miles Davis.

Eddie Jefferson.

Aretha Franklin.

Dexter Gordon.

Billie Holliday.

The talent speaks for itself. All real names that do not suggest a crackerjack box.

The crutch of spectacle and pretense is not necessary if one is TRULY talented.
