  • The Jermaine Dupri Episode: These days, my strongest associations with Jermaine Dupri are the song "Money Ain't a Thang" and one of the most absurd album titles that I've ever heard, Life in 1472*. That being the case, it was worth recalling how deeply influential Dupri was to popular music in the 90s and particularly to the rise of Atlanta as a major force in hip hop.
  • The Ice-T Episode: This interview is a great guide to how gangsta rap organically developed in the musical and cultural climate of 1980s Los Angeles.
  • The Cormega Episode: There seems to be a trend over the past couple of years of single rapper, single producer collaboration albums. I learned about Mega Philosophy, Cormega's collaboration with Large Professor, through this interview. It's a really great album that I highly recommend to fans of New York rap from the 90s.
  • The Rapper Big Pooh Episode: I'd never heard about this guy before listening to this interview, but I was impressed enough that I definitely want to dig into his discography more.
  • The John Forté Episode: In the mid-to-late 90s, John Forté appeared on several albums by the Fugees and Wyclef Jean. Then, he was suddenly imprisoned for the better part of a decade on a drug charge. It was interesting to hear this story in detail.
  • The Darryl Strawberry Episode: I grew up as a Yankee fan in the 90s, when Darryl Strawberry had his second act with the last Yankee dynasty. As a fan of the history of New York baseball in general, it was even more interesting to hear about Strawberry's early days in baseball with the Mets.

Joe Budden always gives props to the CJS.....

I can't speak for Nore or AK......

I listen occasionally to this dudes podcast..... this is random and lightweight haterish of him to say

^^^^

I understand honoring Dallas and feeling he don't get enough flowers

And doing this to get views and attention

but the TONE is off and unnecessary.

And the audience he talking to? Have NO IDEA wtf he talking about because they weren't even born.
