I don't really play the what if game that much, but I wonder how many slams would Steffi had won if that crazy fan hadn't stabbed Seles during that match. Seles had 8 slams before the age of 20 which is ridiculous. Not taking away from Steffi's greatness, but in my opinion, if Serena wins a few more, you can make the case that Serena could be the G.O.A.T. over Graf.

I don't disagree. Hands down Seles was on pace of being the greatest female or probably the greatest tennis player of all times.

She did return to form when she came back. That year she won her first tournament back then later that year made it back to the US. Open Finals where she lost to Steffi Graf (6–7, 6–0, 3–6) then she won the Australian Open the following year. In her comeback she beat all the top players of that time like, Martina Hingis (Number 1 at the time), Jennifer Capriati, Justine Henin, Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, Kim Clijsters, Lindsay Davenport, etc. She played Steffi one final time at the Australian Open in '99 and beat her in straight sets 7–5, 6–1. She returned to form quite nicely.
