Looking at Ron Isley's career, I don't think him not doing her song hurt his career much.
:rolleyes2:
The arrogance of these young MFs is astounding sometimes.

Azealia Banks was shocked that Lil Kim didn't do a song where she wrote Kim's verse. Damn how insulting it is to present a lyricist with lyrics as if they can't write; Kim didn't bow down to Miss Nobody and immediately go into the studio to record her song and thank her for saving her career. Oh, the shock!

Sometimes artists live in their own world and forget that there are many other people outside of it.
That is no disrespect to Marsha's talent; but Ron is the one who should be writing for her; not the other way around. Dude has generations of hits.
thought her career would be bigger
She is a bitch who is full of herself. That's why her career isn't bigger.
She has a decent voice and a good look but she's boring. Still, she does the same shit. Pretty bitch syndrome is real.

I guess one thing that's good about R&B being in the state it's in is that you can pretty much use any sound you want at this point.

Mid-70s soul, 80s Sound, New Jack Swing, mid to late 90s Sound, early 2000s sound.

If you want to mix The Whispers, Heatwave, Switch, SOS Band, Alexander O'Neal, Teena Marie, Janet Jackson, Keith Sweat, R. Kelly, Faith Evans, Mary J. Blidge, SWV, Xscape and Mya on album, you can pretty much do it and get praised for it.

Its a blessing and a curse, as they say.
Because there is no sound defining the era right now, there is also no direction.
This is why we see a lot of "others" doing as good or better than us doing our own shit. The innovation is at a low point right now. People have to find their voices again and some have to rise to the top or else its going to be the A.I. era.
