All these tests I have been taking are wireless speed tests. I'd have to connect to my Gateway with an Ethernet cable to get the max download and upload speed.
WAN bonding is for real with the right equipment. You might be better off doing that then paying an extra for a faster speed on fiber. Many times the cable company will bundle their TV package which is not the case for fiber.
