Where is the confusion??? He clearly said in the posted interview that he "was not there and not involved" - but took a plea bargain and got community service anyway.
In other words, he cooperated with the prosecutors and testified (aka "snitched") against whoever he claims was involved in order to be granted immunity for himself. He was looking at a third strike and would have been facing SERIOUS time.None of this is NEWS - Charlemagne has spoken/written about his former "legal problems" many times in the past. The only new wild card is hearing whatever story line this mystery woman will now be claiming after all these years and how much it will differ from his possibly revisionist history.

He basically thought his cousin was in jail for drinking or something to that effect, (mind you his cousin had a scholarship to penn st) so he didn’t want him to lose his scholarship, so he was trying to go for bat for him, the girl said she was raped, he was charged, but he gave blood etc, he was not found guilty, but they didn’t want to let him go, so they charged him with delinquency of a minor
While it is weird that he would turn himself in because his homies were joking(who jokes like that?), if he only got a Providing alcohol to a Minor charge after providing DNA, its not likely he did it.

I can tell some of you ain't never had a police contact and damn sure never did 8 hours locked up.
Prisons all over this country and in the south particularly are full of black folks that took pleas even though they were 100% innocent based on the time being held over their heads.
Guilt or innocence has nothing to do with it.
Many times the state wants to get that guilty plea for future use. So you tell someone afraid of going away they face 99 years that if they plead to a lesser charge they get probation and can go home there are many who have done just that
