I don't have a problem with this. As said before in here, I struggle seeing him as Bruce but I think he can pull off Bats. I know his ass better start bulking up now cause I don't want no skinny jeans wearing Batman. He better holla at the trainers that Thor and Cap actors use when they have to bulk up for a movie. But this idea right here ....

If they said Batman Beyond....but :smh:

This would be a way better look for him and DC. They need to leave Bruce Wayne alone for a while. People give Spiderman shit for going through so many actors in a short amount of time. Well this will be 6th Bruce Wayne in my lifetime. 7th if you count Kevin Conroy. Which everyone absolutely should. Move away from rebooting Bruce Wayne for a while and shine some light on other stories and characters. I wouldn't even mind seeing Affleck come back as a older Bruce Wayne for a very small side role.

I'm hearing that WB forced the casting of Pattinson.... Reeves wanted Hoult .
Perhaps this was because Reeves had been wanting the actor for the part before Pattinson even knew he was up for it. The writer/director was impressed by his work in movies like GOOD TIME and HIGH LIFE, and it’s said he was “considered early in the process” to play this new take on the classic character..
The way they keep emphasizing that the choice was Reeves reminds me of when a exec over rules a manager but give him credit on the decision to not appear to be undermining

Real talk following his career since a kid on skins?

Hoult would have killed that role.

I'm talking like how homeboy went from Human Torch to the iconic Captain America.

People shitted on Heth when he got cast for the joker and look how that turned out so I'll save my reservations for when the movie drops.
And people shitted on Leto for joker.. and look how that turned out? They shitted on the little nerd kid for Lex Luther, and look how that turned out. They shit on Nick Cage for Superman, look how that turned out. They shit on Apocalypse csting and representation for XMen, look how that turned out..

This is bad casting. Period.

Nothing about this emo anorexic waif says Batman/BruceWayne. 10-15 yars ago he could have been a decent Terry McGinnis. Thats about it.

same shit happens every time - studio execs keep thinking about marketing in a genre where the characters are much more famous - more essential than movie stars

an unknown actor in a well written and executed batman -released in the summer breaks every DC box office record

an all british cast in a Justice League series on HBO would rival Game of Thrones and make more money

before you can get a Heath Ledger performance - you need the Nolans. and studio keeping its hands off.. Also there was no pressure to break a billion at the box back then.

Reeves started by saying he wanted to do a detective focused Batman - for 2 years WB rejected every script Reeves submitted
now there is no more talk about the detective, instead there are rumors of a gender swapped Penguin and other stunts like setting the movie back in the 1990s

They also rejected Affleck's script, which may be one of the many reasons why he dipped

The Batman' Targets Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon

Cue the Bat-signal.

There's going to be a new commissioner in Gotham City.

Westworld star Jeffrey Wright is in negotiations to play Commissioner Gordon, the classic ally to the Dark Knight, in Matt Reeves' The Batman. Robert Pattinson is headlining what is being planned as a grounded take on as the DC Comics crime-fighter. Casting is in the early stages for a who's who of Batman's rogue gallery.

T

Jim Gordon, depending on what stage career-wise the character is portrayed, is the police commissioner or a detective at the Gotham City Police Department and Batman's reluctant ally. In recent screen appearances, Gary Oldman played the role in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, while J.K. Simmons played the role in Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Reeves will be directing from his own script for the Warner Bros./DC feature and will produce with his Planet of the Apes collaborator Dylan Clark.

The Batman is set for a June 25, 2021, release.

Wright has a busy fall ahead of him with the release of Steven Soderbergh's financial drama The Laundromat and Warner Bros.' adaptation of The Goldfinch. He is set for the next James Bond film, No Time to Die, and Wes Anderson's next outing, The French Dispatch
