The newly refreshed Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (Supercharged V8, 668 HP with a manual trans). Fellas are Caddy's still cool ???

I take it you're not a fan of Caddy's :D
Yeah other than the Escalade, CTS-V, CT4-V, CT5-V
I don't really keep up with the rest of the lineup

Yeah fam, the last of the manuals
At least manual sedans, anyway
I'm not a fan of cadillacs. Two stereotypical in my opinion. I've never ever really been interested, like ever. But, truth be told I'm not a car person. Not really impressed by them. I've never been in a really expensive car, but other than a few amenities, it's just a way to get around

Shameful shit. I just cant get with the electric shit. Yeah they fast, but its no soul in the ride. Im keeping my blackwing for the long run because manual sedans are extinct after this run. I got a feeling they will extend the run past the 2025 models.

I'm thinking that 2029/2030 will be the last of, Naturally Aspirated & Supercharged V8's
That would give Chevy a 10 year cycle with the C8 Corvette
And like a 10 year cycle with the CT5-V Blackwings (counting this recent refresh)

When you get a chance
Check out a slightly used BMW M550i
Thats the same car I have
Its in the same class and size, as a Benz E-class
And I also have/had an Infiniti Q50 (not a red sport though)

:shades: :shades:
That 550i is HARD... and a 2019 here in Texas is topping out at 45k so that's definitely within the budget.

CT4V Blackwing is pushing that power and you can find great deals on them bitches right now.
I'll look into those... never even knew Caddy was pushing numbers like that.

I think the BMW M5 might be a little out of his price range :dunno:
He said the Caddy was a little too rich for him
And the M5 cost more
The M4 is a 2 door, a nice ride if you like the controversial front grill
I'm going used so nothing past 2018. I'm looking to stay under 50k so I think I should be fine even if I say I want to stay under 45k. My girl got her approval for a lease on a BMW SUV she's been eyeing so it would be pretty cool to have 2 Beemers sitting in the garage.

Take the Infiniti out of the mix. That shit is loud as fuck in the cabin and doesn't handle that well.

Don't know what you're looking to spend and what you value - eg. luxury, handling etc but you can't go wrong with the M5. Get a used one. The Merc is sweet too but it tends to visit the shop.
We currently have a GLC-300 Coupe that's kind of a shared car between my girl and I, and that warranty just ended so we trying to get rid of it before shit goes crazy. It's kinda doing some wonky shit with the engine light coming on every now and again so we plan on moving QUICK on that lease BMW (2024 BMW X4 xDrive30i) she's looking at.

As for that Infiniti, I noticed it was loud too when I got over the initial kick in the pants you get when you mash the gas pedal. But another thing about it too is the interior... it's not really "luxury"... I've seen Platinum Edition Nissan Maximas that look better. When i researched it further it was stated that the interior of those cars (Infiniti Q50) haven't changed since 2017! That to me is just unacceptable for a luxury car.

I bought a used M550i during the pandemic. I was lucky that my Lexus G350 was at a high trade-in value. My car has a bunch of options and was close to 100k when new. Like I said: lucky then a mug. But my point is the "M-lite," as they call them, is an excellent car. You're not going to get M performance but close. You can tune them to very close but different suspensions mean it is what it is.
If you're interested in tuning try to get one before Jan of 2020 because everything after that has bench-locked DMEs. I'm still waiting to tune my DMEs but I did the tranny and it makes a difference. I also upgraded the HK audio and it sounds amazing. I never want to get out of the car.

The Infiniti is considered a luxury car but not by me. The old Infiniti M30 and Q45 were sweet but not these newer ones.
Bimmer and Merc are luxury/performance cars. Audi is...kinda. bimmer leans more towards performance and merc more towards luxury but both are sweet, except merc tends to be less reliable.

I was impressed with the first CTS-V performance but not the fit and finish. Like all GM cars it's a bin car and I've seen too many times how badly the f&f wears over time. You won't have that problem with the germans.

Good luck.

They should have built on this body style right here. Especially if they were going to name it Blackwing!

I'm gonna start checking in on the 550i xDrive. I like the look on those and they are well within my price range.

Just found a 2018 used M550i with 41k miles in Illinois for $35,900

456hp 4.4L V8
41,079 miles

$1400 transfer cost but shit I'd fly there, pick it up myself and drive it back.

Check on the breakdowns on that engine. IIRC that's the second generation of the N63 and both gen 1 & 2 had issues. Look for gen 3 (forget which years). Also gen 3 has 525 HP but those #s are at the crank.

@spider705

Yeah Spider, make sure to do your research fam
Like I said, I have a 2018 BMW M550i
I bought it 3 years ago, for $45,000
So far it has a little over 50,000 miles
No major problems yet
(I did have an issue with the roof antenna, but that was because tye previous owner wrapped the roof & didn't glue the antenna back properly)

***** But make sure to get years 2018 or up *****

If you decide to buy this car, you have to do your research on these V8 engines
BMW purposely designed these to run hot.
There are FOUR (4) different "versions" of this same engine
They made improvements over the past few years to make it more reliable

***** The earlier 550i cars (years 2010--2017) had a lot of trouble with those V8 engines *****

So STAY AWAY from those years
Only get the 2018--2020 years
Or the minor refreshed 2021--2024 years

Make sure to do your research fam
And/Or hit up your bruhs on BGOL

All this. I can explain why the engine is what it is if you want to get technical but suffice to say the turbos are in between the cylinder banks. This makes routine maintenance like plugs a royal pain in the ass. And this plant needs plugs like every 50k. Minus whale do coils while you're in there. Take a look at FCP EURO to price only parts and you'll see it's not cheap.
Say all that to say, stay away from gen 1&2 N63s and I would strongly suggest buying from a dealer. That way you can get a BMW extended warranty which is good at any bimmer dealer. TBH I don't know if you can get one after a private sale but check that out before you buy.

You know the old saying: never buy a german car without a warranty.

After reading their junk lawsuits attacking us after being over represented in college or pushing for mass incarceration, I am not buying an Asian car. Many of those places are not Unionized.

I don't want to get mixed up with them, I get a weird crybaby vibe from them. Now they might not do that with whites who they worship, but they have disdain for us.

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is our reigning champ among premium sports sedans and has won our 10Best award three times in a row. Along with the Corvette, the Blackwing is the apex of General Motors engineering. It's a supercharged, gasoline-spitting, crisp-handling hell of a time wrapped up in a svelte and otherwise entirely normal mid-size luxury sedan. Packing a 668-hp V-8, a six-speed manual, and the industry's best traction control system, the rear-wheel-drive CT5-V Blackwing feels more alive than the BMW M5 or the last-gen Mercedes-AMG E63—and as a bonus, it’s considerably less expensive than both.

The price of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is expected to start around $96,000.

Acceleration is explosive, and in our testing, a Blackwing with the manual hit 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. With the optional automatic transmission, it’s even quicker still, reaching the 60 mph mark in 3.5 seconds. In our 0-150-0 test, an automatic Blackwing was barely 0.3 second behind a Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
The CT5-V Blackwing comes with a 33.0-inch display screen on its dashboard which boasts an impressive 9K resolution.

That one is...

I'm looking now, not in that league though... not quite a bgol baller like everybody else but I'm doing well

I want a sedan that's pushing over 400hp... so far I've looked at a Red Sport Infiniti Q50 and the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG...

do y'all know of anything else in that range? I'm sure there's a BMW in that ball park but I'm unsure which it is
Check out a Audi S6.

This my CT4V Blackwing 472Hp, 445 Torque, mofos tuning these bitches easily all the way up to 700hp easily already.

Only reason I'm getting a 5 built is because of space and I want a manual with a V8 plus im not in love with the white color and when I get the car I needed something quick after a car accident.
