The Official 2025 And Beyond WNBA Season/Women's Basketball Thread

After a long day at work, and practically struggling to stay up to watch this game (after the UConn/SDS), I'm glad I was able to watch it straight through. Especially after JuJu's unfortunate injury. Because it was CLASSIC to see KiKi and the rest of the team step up.

They really did step up.

She'll be alright ....

Candice Parker torn her ACL in high school and redshirted her first year at Tenn... And still had a Hall of Fame Career...

She more than likely will miss all of next year... ACL's are 8 to 12 months .. no need to rush back...
Yeah she'll be alright but...

She's literally the biggest star in women's college basketball and this is a huge setback and blow to her and everything that she had going on.

Same with Paige when she got injured...

Now it just part of their story....

She has the right team around her... Strong family, Klutch Management and the whole culture looking out for her...

Shit... Nike already working on her comeback campaign & behind the scenes documentaries...

Seriously, it's very common for women to get their ACL's in basketball.

But we're seeing the biggest star in women's college basketball getting injured in real time so it hits different

The Spotlight is microscopic on all these young girls now.
Every little move they make garners attention.
And I'm sure it's become both physically and mentally draining.
Especially since Women's College Ball has gotten that "push".

I think it was easier for many of them when NO ONE was paying them attention.
Except serious Fans (like some of US here).
Pressure was just less intense.

Damn know they announced it last night unless they edited the title.

Damn man i know she'll bounce back but this hurts considering what she had a chance to do this year.

You're 100% spot on!

That's all that I'm saying, the spotlight was shining the brightest on her this year. This was her year!

And now everything on court-wise is stopped for more than a year.

Though the analysis from the First Take panel was spot on, it's does an extreme disservice to Iriafen, Gayles, and the other young women on the team. It's like they're all telling Gottleib and The Girls that they may as well just give it up already. It's totally disrespectful and disheartening. USC knows they have to step up without Watkins now more than ever.

Why not just cheer them on? Instead of telling them to "pack it up"?
USC isn't My "team". I'm more UConn and South Carolina. But I still want to see USC tear on after this unfortunate incident.
