Literally EVERY comment on that video is racist or negative. EVERY SINGLE ONE!!!!! And the few comments made by (what I perceive as )"blk women"are disparaging to blk men. One commenter when as far as coping and pasting the entirety of those false DOJ statistics to justify our treatment (blk people)by law enforcement. The You Tube comments section is truely one of the most disgusting places in ALL of the web.

That commercial is too much truth for them to handle. Their fragile psyche cannot bear the gravity of the truth, so they just deny, deflect & defend. I have this conversation with the rednecks at my job all the time- where they will say THEY never owned slaves they had nothing to do with it, (even though they TO THIS DAY benefit from that system) but will say shit like "why do black people"?... I tell them I can only answer for one black person... Myself- just like they are not the spokesman for all white people.

I have often had to point out the hypocrisy of that argument - that white people get to be as individual as snowflakes and the misdeeds of any one individual is just that- one guy, an anomaly- but at the same time they will use the negative actions of one black person castigate our whole race :angry::angry:

Whites are cowards so it's second nature for them to go online and continue their pussyness.

Y'all once again missing the forest for the trees...

Proctor & Gamble aren't even doing the right thing & y'all co-signing...

Peep the ending..."Let's talk about bias"?!?!?!

BIAS????

BIAS????

That was outright RACISM that was displayed. You literally had a black kid running for his life from some white kids.

This was just another way to soften the message & y'all just falling all over for it.

Stop being happy a multibillion dollar company wants to shine a light on you....it usually means that they found a way to PROFIT off of you....and just like that, you're a slave again.

Look at the forest & not just a few trees...

PG did a great thing, but we need to have these discussions with US and be willing to organize with US. This social media shit, is nothing more than group think, attack on anything positively Black.

PG has always been big in supporting the National Society of Black Engineers....and they HIRE US.

Their my black is beautiful project has been around for 8-10 years if I recall correctly. I know I've been following their twitter timeline for a long time. They have content specifically for black women. Granted they are trying to market to us, but they have had "race positive" imagery and messages for a while now. If you look at the MBIB twitter feed you can see the articles they are retweeting related to this. The main P&G twitter feed often retweets them also exposing content to people who would not necessarily follow MBIB.

Always remember you are dealing with white folks, but having a discussion, to a degree, only helps. I often have mixed feelings about stuff because often it will cross the line from informing to using black pain and death for entertainment consumption, but I don't have a problem with this video. The "talk" was something that in the past few years with all the extrajudicial police murders has come into mainstream white consciousness. Many didn't actually know that black folks actually have these convos with their kids. So I look at it as being nice to have acknowledgement that this actually goes on, sometimes seeing stuff like this can be cathartic, but the benefit is educating white folks, not illuminating black people. I wouldn't be too upset about them using the word "bias" instead of "racism". White folks shut down when they are confronted directly or if they think they are being asked to take on guilt. Everything resolves around their feelings and fragility. On the one hand, I hate coddling folks, on the other hand, sometimes that is the only way you can reach them. Probably more than one of the people pissed have actually used the line "you're pretty for a black girl".

As long as our ideas of success and values are rooted in their ideas of success and values, the best you could ever hope for (in their system) is 2nd place. You don't look for fairness in a rigged game. This system was built for the benefit and interest of white people, therefore, looking for them to advocate for us is foolish and counter to their idea of success. Placation is a tool that appeases our emotions, but does nothing to resolve our problems. Therefore, it comes back to what are our non-negotiable values and what are the consequences for breaking them?

This is why the Black men in the commercial were silent:

From My Black is Beautiful website
https://www.pgeveryday.com/tag/mbib-about-us

Our History

My Black is Beautiful was created in 2007 by a group of visionary black women at P&G to spark a broader dialogue about black beauty. Our mission is to ignite and support a sustained national conversation by, for and about black women. Together, we can serve as the catalyst for a movement that effects positive change.

That commercial looked beautiful. It beautifully and perfectly illustrated some very sad generational truths.

209 likes and 1,729 dislikes on YouTube?

That reminds me of hearing about and seeing film of the heckling and abuse of the those 9 Black kids in 1957 who integrated Little Rock Central High.

Exactly 60 years ago. Today, attitudes are unchanged.

This is the kind of thing that sometimes makes me question:

Why the f*ck are we trying so hard to hang onto our little spots in this poison land called America?

White people love living in their own delusional world .

To the cacs tired of hearing about racism,
We are more tired of living it.
We've been living with it for over 400 years yet when you call them cracker or racist, you're the one being racist towards white people...

Are you surprised though ?????????

oh they do.

its a very DISHONEST conversation for the most part.

It always lead what's wrong with black people and why we can't pull ourselves from the bootstrap even though we have to deal with many obstacles 24/7.:rolleyes2:

I fear never. If their ancestors could reappear to their descendants just one time they would warn them about what is waiting for them on the other side.

The older I get the more I've come to believe that the "other side" you refer to is really a just device created by white people to subjugate generations of black people. Can you think of a more effective way to control a whole race of people than to convince them that no matter what manner of evil is done to them don't retaliate because they will be rewarded for their suffering and turning the other cheek AFTER they die? Ironically the most vile murderous white people in positions of power don't seem to be concerned about them having to a price for their actions after they die. Could it be because they know the only Hell that exists is the one right here on Earth and they are ones inflicting it, not catching it? :hmm:

They do get it. They just don't care.

Yep. It's not up to me to change hearts and minds. I'm past that kum-ba-ya, please recognize my humanity bullshit. I don't have the energy or patience for it.

I much rather spend my time talking with my own on how we plan on becoming stronger.

But shit, that can be a challenge in itself.

I could care less what and how white folks respond to the commercial.

I actually had to give "the talk" to some black college interns on my job after an incident. That talk wasn't just from the perspective of us being black but, also from the perspective of us attending and haven attended HBCU's.

Basically told them what they already knew, just had to make them understand that even after 20 years in the workforce they would still have to watch their backs.

We shouldn't. I visited France last year and the shit we deal with here, is really about how sick white americans are.

Nah I studied spirituality of non white people. I believe in reincarnation and perfection of self over lifetimes. Some evolve, some devolve.
