just finished it & this is what i'm thinking. as was said above, there were no zombies in this episode aside from the 1 in the well that wasn't a threat. since this season is to be broken up into 2 parts i gotta feeling that the last episode of the first part is gonna be big & make us wanna stay tuned for the 2nd part. this first part is not necessarily filler but building the character's stories. i remember when 'From Dusk Til Dawn' came out there was an interview where Tarrantino & Rodriguez were talking about when you read horror novels there isn't action all the way through. it takes a long time because the characters are being built so when shit does get real, we feel more for the characters. i mean look at the Exorcist book. it takes forever for shit to start happening but when it does it's non-stop. since the budget is cut for effects they have to create more story then make it count at the right time.

12 fucking episodes and all this filler. Terrible writing. The characters should just sit on the porch and drink lemonade.

They're going to fuck around like V and get this shit cancelled with this slow, drag on fuckery. You don't even need zombies or special effects to bring some human tension/enemy to episodes.

You are right. You are supposed to build the characters up. Then build the tension. Then put them in a tough situation to build suspense. Problem is the writing has been so bad this season...I want them all to die so they could introduce new characters. They all annoy me. Darryl is the only one living in a zombie world. And he keep fucking up looking for that dead ass little girl.

Kenya would still get fucked..... but it would have to be a quicky, an over/under the clothes fuck, guns nearby, multiple exits available....but make no mistake, zombies or no zombies, Kenya is getting inseminated.

There is a zombie plague. It doesn't get any tougher. Every minute is a tough situation. Shit has to be done on the fly. These characters are sitting around like they are on fucking Gilligan's Island or some shit.

There should be countless of zombies wandering around the woods. There should be a lot more tension between the characters. What about hostile survivors? They could reveal that the people on the farm have been keeping undead family and friends somewhere in hopes of the cure, one gets free and starts to attack, the people on the farm of course go against our group of survivors(ala survival of the dead).

The writing is simply terrible. I understand there is a budget, so make human threats. Like a group who was on the freeway and escaped and has been living in the woods all this time. Surviving.

Movies like Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead(both) have shown how to keep shit moving and build characters during a plague. No excuse for this horrible, boring bullshit that this series has now become.

All this stuff that you guys are complaining about is cause of amc reducing the budgets and firing frank Durabont. I agree though this season pretty much sucks and is very boring, seems like too many episodes with nothing really happening.

That is where the show is making a big mistake. They need to have at least 3-4 zombie kills per show.
It really has become The TALKING Dead.

I'm glad they got picked up for another season but they better pick up the action a little, because there are ALOT of things that happen to these people in the comic that needs to be in the show.

WTF is with this "holy ground Highlander" farm? Zombie attacks off limit on the premises?

So far they have wasted 90 minutes -- basically a movie -- on boring bullshit. A 90 minute movie would have explained everything. It seems like the writers are dragging this shit out like it is a 24 ep season. If you can't put together two episodes of a show like this and get a nice little movie, it's a fail. Reminds me of when Son's had that one fucked up season and now this season is right on pace.
