yeah the time jumps are confusing .. even for someone that knows the storyI enjoyed the first season alot.I got confused with the jumping through time at first...
Yeah, I'm still watching. Started it off in the background, but realized this deserves all my attention. It's great so far IMHO. I been pleasantly surprised this week by this series and uncut gems.I enjoyed the first season alot.I got confused with the jumping through time at first...
Man, this series got me wanting to break out the games. They fucking nailed it.Bought the witcher series for my son to play on PC. Never even loaded it up. Might have to now. Son says it's pretty faithful adaption of the games in terms of settings and characters.
Wait... Ole humpback is Yen???!!! GTFOH!!! This is how you develop Characters and build intrigue!!! Played 3, half of 2, and a couple chapters of a book and never knew her background. Now how did she go from that... To Raven haired baddie later on??? Oooooooo!!!
The Witcher: How Magic Works for Geralt and Yennefer
Not a fan of how they are jumping around in the timeline. Its making the story harder to follow than needed.
I'm going to need to rewatch the series. It wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to the hype either. It also feels like it stopped at the worst time in the story and it kind of calls in to question the pacing of the story given the events of the last episode.it just feels like the story that was told in eight episodes probably could have been done in 1 to 3 episodes.
If you are not done watching the series, don't read below.
The session seemed to be about telling the audience about the origin of the Witcher and his God daughters relationship. Maybe I missed it, but some of the story doesn't make sense. For instance, the god daughter and the Witcher hug, but from what I could keep track of they have never formally met before that day. Next the queen and king seemed to be upset that the Witcher never came to visit his GD, but they never wanted him to claim her anyway and arrested him for coming to save her. Finally the Witcher claims not to believe in fate, so what triggered him to come for the girl. I'm sure I missed what caused him to want to return for her, but again he never met her, never wanted to claim her as his prize and doesn't believe in fate. I don't even think he stayed in contact with the parents, so it's not like he made an promise to take care of her.
I've never read the book or played the games, it would be interesting to see players or readers opinion of the series.

The Queen told Ciri to look for him before she left. As,for Geralt,he knew about Ciri but never saw her before. He probably knew it was her due to her looking like her mother..
Next the queen and king seemed to be upset that the Witcher never came to visit his GD, but they never wanted him to claim her anyway and arrested him for coming to save her.
They were upset probably because he originally turned down being a knight and being Ciri's Law of Surprise
Im probably wrong about this though.

That gold dragon told him he can't escape his destiny after he told Yennefer, she couldn't bare children.Im going to assume that's what mde him go back to Cintra for Ciri
it was way better on the 2nd viewing (i restarted at epsiode 6 and now back to eps 5) once i understood the timelines.
witcher and ciri didn't meet, but he knows her. at one point he was watching her in the court yard. i think the grand parents are more upset because they lost ciri's mother and ciri so young when the witcher came back. so they are more protective. also he jokingly laid claim to her, not believing in fate.......but as the show implies no one escapes fate or destiny.
Hugging someone is normally a emotional response. The two of them looking for and finding each other without a real bond is not likely to make them hug.
His relationship to Yennefer could have triggered Geralt to search for Ciri. I dont recall the discussion but I remember Yennefer mentioning the fact that Geralt won Ciri. How this makes Geralt want to play daddy I don't know. Is the plan to have a family with Yennefer and Ciri.
Im going assume since Geralt knew the queen and the queen is Ciri's grandmother they feel they have a close relationship....
That's was before Yennefer and Geralt parted way but right before that happened the gold dragon told Yennefer she couldn't bare children and looked at Geralt saying he couldn't fight his destiny.
I have a sneaky suspension that Ciri plays an important role in Yennefer and Geralt's destiny because Yennefer does have a destiny to fulfill but I don't what it is...
I wasn't really looking for a reason for the hug at this point. I'm just saying it doesn't make sense based on what I followed.
Overall I'm interested enough to watch a second season if and when it happens. I just hope they stop with all the time skips or at least do a better job of indicating them
They need to do a better job with the special effects too. Some of the monsters look horrible..
