One of my earliest memories... like 3 years old. The Ike and Tina version of Proud Mary was out, and it was pretty much my first favorite song.
At that time/age though, when I heard the name of the act, and saw them on whatever show they'd be performing it on, I only associated the song with her alone, and I thought her name was "Ikantina Turner"

Tina’s firstborn, Craig Turner, a son with musician Raymond Hill, died in July 2018 from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at age 59. He was adopted by Ike after he and Tina wed in 1962.
Tina, 83, has two adopted sons, Michael and Ike Jr., who were fathered by Ike.

R.I.P I still believe she embellished a lot of shit up concerning Ike. I also believe Laurence Fishburne should have won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ike.
What a lady. What a performer. Went to see the Broadway show about her life a few months ago. I had hoped she had did a bit more acting because she was great in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. I'm glad she made it to age 83 but it's shocking when such an icon passes .Rest well lovely lady
