Okay, this is about the 3rd soapbox post with NO silutions for Democrats. What should that message be?
Nobody wants to hear this, because it's a lot easier to talk stratagems and point fingers, but I think Democrat messaging was not and is not as awful as people make it out to be. People said they wanted concrete ideas. They got them. People said they were tired of having to go high when they go low. They got that. People say that identity politics got in the way, but it really wasn't in the way.

Yes, there was a huge misinformation campaign put forth. And unless and until some things about that are addressed, no amount of messaging is going to get through the firewall of GOP cruelty.

The people are the problem. And we can argue that they lack motivation or education or are being misinformed, but that just removes their accountability. A fair chunk of the people in this country choose a less enlightened path either because they somehow think it works or they want to be awful people. But in any case, they are choosing that.

So we are at the consequences phase of the operation. And I guess maybe the only real messaging choice for Dems will be whether or not to say "I told you so" or "Can we help you now?"

"We Will Pass Those Tariff Costs Back To The Consumer," Says CEO Of AutoZone. Here's A Look At Other Companies Raising Prices

President-elect Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs have already begun to upend businesses in several industries and many are taking action to safeguard their profits. The tariffs, which include a 10-20% tax on all imports and a potential 60-100% on goods from China, are causing significant concern – and the costs are likely coming right to consumers' wallets.

Trump confirms plan to declare national emergency, use military for mass deportations

"On Day 1, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out," he said during a rally at Madison Square Garden in the closing days of the presidential race. "I will rescue every city and town that has been invaded and conquered, and we will put these vicious and bloodthirsty criminals in jail, then kick them the hell out of our country as fast as possible."

Grocery prices are high. Trump’s mass deportations could make matters worse

Beyond the moral, legal and logistical questions raised by this campaign promise, mass deportations threaten to starve key industries of badly needed workers. And perhaps no industry relies on undocumented workers more than the food and agriculture industries.

Trump's deportation vow alarms Texas construction industry

"It would devastate our industry, we wouldn't finish our highways, we wouldn't finish our schools," said Stan Marek, CEO of Marek, a Houston-based commercial and residential construction giant. "Housing would disappear. I think they'd lose half their labor."

You on a Black forum supporting Trump. Trump will grant cops blanket protections from lawsuits, reimpose his Muslim travel ban, go up against “anti-white racism,” rollback pollution limits and get rid of the Department of Education and here you are, simping for him.

SMH

All is true. Highlighted red sticks out most because his first election run he basically said fuck your protest, fuck your victims, we must protect our police.

Republicans dont fear consequences. Republicans say and do crazy vindictive shit unchecked becuase when Dems get power they will not use it. People not just voters see that and wonder how you going protect me when you dont protect yourself. Dems try to govern when not in power. Repubs tear shit down in power or not. The number 1 thing Dems can do is repeat the message that when they get back in power they will use the government to punish Republican overreach. Reap what you sow.

That's fair.

And the best thing that electorate can do to support that is make it clear that we will have their backs when they do it. Because we know that Republicans will cry and moan about overreach and facism no matter what does or doesn't get done to them. So people can't fall for the okie-doke.

One thing I have seen that is encouraging is that progressive candidates overall have seen more success in recent years. Supporting them helps send the message that these are the people and ideas we want going forward. Because Dems won't move in that direction unless the indications are clear that failing to do so will lead to failure.

Which, I mean, should be the point that we are at now. But I think that is starting to get lost in the false narrative that the Democrats' mistake was overleaning in that direction

Right, I just hope people pay attention and not fall for $1200 stemmy while you getting your pocket picked.

Shit. They ain't handing out money. Nobody on their team even suggested that they were. That was just some fantasy people came up with to try and justify "how good we had it back then".

The main reason I knew that the pandemic was fucking with us was that government willingly gave us cash with no strings attached. And quickly. People forget that those first few weeks /months, everyone was scared out of their minds. And to be fair, there was no treatment then, either.

Seriously, you motherfuckers (whoever you are) are crazy if you think that these people who risked life and limb to get here are all just gonna leave quietly when they have access to the same guns that everybody else in america has access to.

I was talking to some family members about this. This is why Trump is not going to go through with this. Also corporations is coming up to him like yo this is going to cause major problems with the economy. Because if I’m went to hell to get here and I’m trying to get my citizenship and some foods come to the door to send me back oh they got to send me back dead because I’m going to take some people with me. I am a black man of course I didn’t ask to be here. My ancestors didn’t ask to be here. America without immigrants is going through a baby crisis right now if they want people to work, they better leave some of these immigrants who are doing good things and not causing trouble.
