Had to be, although I'm surprised it was so sudden.
Fox took a lot of damage from that trial and IMO have opened themselves up to litigation moving forward now that people have seen a successful suit against them.
Moving forward Tucker is a liability for Fox and Fox is a liability to his "brand."

Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.
