its much worse for us but I'm seeing its also a poor thing... a white former colleague of mine has been facing criminal charges since 2013 and can't get it to move forward to trial... he posted bail, but can't afford a high end lawyer... the DA claims ongoing investigation, but I've noticed the police just keep messing with him trying to provoke him in some way 2x a month or so since the end of 2014 and floating a news article every 6 months or so21 yrs on....black people in America are still struggling to avoid land mines of prejudice and the white people comfortably oblivious to the severity of the problem.
I tend to disagree. Its a television show.. therefore some dramatization is expected. I also see him as even toned and articulate in most scenes.. certainly when addressing the public and during trial prep. Take for instance last nites scene in the conference room when his employee told him Shapiro was in the hall acting like a bitch. Johnnie nonchalantly said "its ok. dont tell me about it. he will come in when he does", and kept it moving. I see more emotion and passion in private moments, and i think thats just human.Look at Johnnie here, this is him all the time. Smooth, even tone, articulate...not how they're portraying him. Courtney is killing it, but he's not getting the real Johnnie. They're taking away from the brilliance of the actual guy & got him as a caricature.

Also keep in mind that some dramatization is used to flush out personalities of characters.
yeah an LA ADA pushing a RollsI get it & agree for the most part, but it just turns what is one of our most brilliant legal minds & professionals into a caricature. The "nigga please" shit & the "I'm here to win" is make believe bullshit that takes away from the real man. Stereotypical and angles him as a race baiter. I would just rather see him portrayed as the intellectual he was & not the fancy suit wearing, loud mouth they got him. They could've at least put him in his Rolls when they reenacted the pull over!

lol @ race baiter. no one really knows what that even means.
Maybe I'm tripping but I think that's how he's being portrayed or at least that's what I'm getting from it. Like Amajor said, the only time he's out of character is when he's not in the public and so I'm not sure if this is or isn't how Johnny was outside of when he wasn't in front of cameras. Like do we really know how he was in private moments with his wife, etc.? I don't think he's portrayed as a loud mouth here at all.
The scene of Cochran’s traffic stop dramatized that obliviousness , while JClaid on the hood of his car in handcuffs, the CACS in the restaurant and shoppers did and said nothing. All they did was watch, completely inert. At the end of the day that’s the story of race in America – apathy in the face of injustice everywhere.
Johnie made me love Law back then
RIP
I feel you. I just don't subscribe to the "race bait" or "race card" schools of thought. They are both misnomers created by racist whites and used in attempts to discredit true instances or race based discrimination. The look on Johnnie face and Dardens after he destroyed his ass needs to be a gif
"nigga please "
c/s!!!!
Courtney B. Vance is murdering this shit.
I thought the line of the night was going to be: "Brother, I ain't trying to be respectful... I'm trying to win."
But it turned out to be: "Nigga please."
He delivered that shit with such disgust.
Yeah I was about to say line of hte night went from being
""Brother, I ain't trying to be respectful... I'm trying to win."
then minutes later it became "Nigga PLEASE"
and by the end of the episode it was "Don't put Furman on the stand....let the white people do him...."
This show has gotten far better since they started developing Cochran's character.
Yo when Johnny turned to Darden with that disgusted prince face and said Nigga please I fell the fuck out.
"Nigga Please"
"Im not removing those names brother"
Johnnie>>>>>>>>>>
Courtney Vance is killing this shit!
"Somebody got to fall on the sword , today is yo day brotha"
"brotha i ain't trying to be respectful I'm trying to win"
im out
and a short version for daily BGOL usage

Certainly in this case when you consider the case was literally lost because these racist pieces of shit planted evidence .
There was no "race baiting" here brother... Not on the part of black folk.
Yea... i dont give a dam what white folk think my man.. He could be up there speaking the Kings english and praying to a white woman... cac's still gonna discredit the man and call bullshit. Its what they do.Oh, no doubt. I'm saying its pandering to white folks fear & belief that OJ got off for any reason other than the state had a shitty case that the cops fucked up...

Any retard with a modicum of brain power can see this man is fucking brilliant and the case was lost by dirty cops and outmatched prosecution.
How old was this chris Darden nigga?
Naw my pops did the same thingHe mentioned being in law school in the 70s so I'm guessing early to mid 40s.
This show reminding me why I had doubt he did it back when it happened. Racist ass Furman jumped the fence and planted that shyt. Keeping a vial of blood in his pocket. Little droplets of blood planted here and there when the murder scene is a bloodbath.
Cuba makes a horrible OJ. I guess thats why I wasn't feeling the first few episodes. After catching up, the last two are excellent.
Wonder what tonight's best line is going be?
I don't think we're going to get "if it doesn't fit, you must acquit" yet. Too soon.
