‘Batgirl’ set photos revealed: What you won’t get to see on big screen
Exclusive images show behind-the-scenes work on the movie, which has now been scrapped by Warner Bros.www.google.com
Take a look at these on-set photos from DC Comics’ “Batgirl” — because they’re the only look we’re going to get at the “shelved” film.
Images taken during the production of the Warner Bros. movie in February in Glasgow, Scotland, feature its star, Leslie Grace, as well as Oscar winner J.K. Simmons and “The Mummy” actor Brendan Fraser, plus their stunt doubles.
Michael Keaton, who was set to reprise his 1992 role as Batman, wasn’t pictured on set, but a stunt double in his classic 1990s Batsuit was. However, photographers caught Keaton arriving in Glasgow during filming.
Simmons also stuns in stills as Gotham City Police Commissioner Jim Gordon. Dressed in a beige trenchcoat and striped tie, the actor points a gun at an unlucky stand-in for Keaton in the middle of the road.
And then there’s Batgirl herself, “In the Heights” alum Grace. In a blue leather Batsuit accented with a gold Batgirl symbol and shoes, her body double’s ginger hair pops as she skirts around town on a motorcycle. In another shot, the stuntwoman clutches crew members as she climbs the stairs of a building.

The stunt double for Firefly — portrayed by actor Brendan Fraser — was seen on the “Batgirl” set during a late-night shoot involving a car chase.

Meanwhile, Fraser’s double was pictured in his villainous Firefly costume, donning a black gas mask with an ominous tank — fuel for the villain’s flamethrowers — strapped to his back.
Fraser himself was spotted walking out of a burning pharmacy clutching a bottle of pills.
The 53-year-old actor’s “Batgirl” role is part of his return to acting, as he stepped away from the business in recent years due to depression.
In 2018, he candidly shared that a former Hollywood Foreign Press Association president allegedly groped him in 2003.
Fraser is already a member of DC’s ever-growing family with his role as Cliff “Robotman” Steele in the HBO Max series “Doom Patrol.”

Other on-set photos include a yellow Gotham taxi cab, as well as fiery explosions — on top of both a fire truck and a burning building.
Before “Batgirl” was scrapped altogether, it was supposed to head straight to HBO Max. The Puck newsletter reported in April that WB’s then-chair Toby Emmerich was considering a theatrical run for the film too.
But Emmerich stepped down in June to form his own production company — not long after Warner Bros. merged with Discovery and David Zaslav became the CEO of the new entity. He replaced Emmerich with MGM’s Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy.

Fans figured something was amiss with the movie when it wasn’t mentioned at all at DC’s San Diego Comic-Con panel last month. The much publicized event, after all, is designed to boost exposure for forthcoming projects just like this one.
When the project was officially deemed over with, a top Hollywood source told The Post that the reportedly $70 million movie — which insiders suggested actually topped $100 million — was not screen-testing very well with audiences.
DC decided to cut its losses for the sake of the brand’s future, the source said.

Arrowverse Creator Announces New TV Deal With Warner Bros.
By Aeron Mer EclarinalPosted: January 09, 2023
The Arrowverse may soon end, but a new deal announced by its creator, Greg Berlanti, offered a promising update for The CW's shared universe.
The Arrowverse shows have had their fair share of ups and downs, but 2022 served as a rough year for the franchise. Several Arrowverse shows were unceremoniously canceled, namely Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow, and most recently, Stargirl.
The Flash is also set to debut its final season next month, thus putting an end to Berlanti's DC storytelling.
While a new update may have offered hope for the Arrowverse, a closer look suggested that it is not the case.
Greg Berlanti Inks New 4-Year Deal with Warner Bros. TV
DC
As per Deadline, Arrowverse creator Greg Berlanti closed a new four-year exclusive overall deal for his Berlanti Productions with Warner Bros. TV to remain at the studio for its television productions up to 2027.
In an official statement, Berlanti announced the new deal, noting that this will mark his "third decade" with Warner Bros:

While no financial terms are being disclosed, Deadline's sources revealed that the agreement is "structured differently" than the executive's blockbuster overall deal with Warner Bros. TV group. Said deal is estimated to be more than $300 million and as much as $400 million over six years.
This new deal is reportedly more of a joint venture which Deadline described as having a "big potential upside" for Berlanti.
Under the new deal, Berlanti Productions is expected to develop new TV programming to be produced by Warner Bros. TV Group divisions for all platforms, including HBO Max, external streaming services, cable, and broadcast networks.
This deal comes after Berlanti inked a deal with CAA to represent him in all areas, abandoning his 15-year stint with WME amid the DC shakeup.
Will the Arrowverse Continue Due to Greg Berlanti's New Deal?
Although Greg Berlanti secured this new deal from Warner Bros., this still doesn't mean that the Arrowverse can continue considering that DC Studios, not Berlanti Productions, is now steering the ship for DC TV.
Moreover, Berlanti is known to be successful in producing content at a lower budget, meaning that this would've factored in on why Warner Bros. Discovery's top brass wanted him to stick around.
As for the Arrowverse's future chances, The Flash's final run at The CW is poised to end the DC TV shared universe on a high note, considering it is bringing out the big guns in terms of guest stars and storytelling prowess.
That being said, it's safe to say that the Arrowverse will indeed end, and Berlanti's new deal gives room for future stories set in DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DCU.
Hopefully, some of the talented Arrowverse actors will be included in Berlanti's new wave of storytelling, with them either playing the same characters or different DC heroes/villains.
