Two Innocent Black Men Jailed 30 Years For Nothing!
North Carolina’s longest-serving death row inmate and his half-brother serving a life sentence have been exonerated. The police who tampered, concealed and lied about the guilt of these men walk free today.
Robeson County superior court freed the two men, Leon Brown and Henry McCollum, who were 15 and 19 at the time of their arrest in 1983. It was testimony to the overwhelming strength of the evidence that was presented to the court that judge Douglas Sasser cleared them of the murder of 11-year-old Sabrina Buie on the first day of a hearing to consider new DNA evidence in the case.
This is yet another example of our judicial system lacking the adequate representation, due process and morality to sentence citizens to death. If you can't see that you're more blind than our justice could ever be!
