Yeah it was. The mockumentary portion is what makes it. It wouldn't have been as good without it.

I'm watching the first Terrifier on Tubi right now. The movie is entertaining no doubt but it's a silly gorefest. Maybe I'm just desensitized but nothing has made me squeamish so far.
I plan on watching the trilogy in the next few months once I clear out assorted TV / movies from the "watch list" ...
This is one of those movies where it's funner to watch with friends especially if you have a friend that's squeamish. I prefer horror that creeps me out and makes me feel paranoid of strange noises and this doesn't do it.
Some of my best movie experiences are attending the advance screenings (especially for action, horror, and suspense). The people that have all won tickets are into it.
One of the other most fun experiences was around the early-2010s. There was a film fest in the city and they had digitally remastered / upscaled some older titles, including JAWS. I said fuck it ... let me win some tickets for that one. The place was packed and lots of people were quoting the dialogue in the theater, haha. Pretty funny during some of the epic lines when a number of people were shouting it out in unison.
I haven't watched it all yet but the only 80s horror that scared me was Gremlins. I was really young when my older cousin showed it to me.
The Beast Within..trailer even had me shook(narrated by Peter Cullen)
Also this happens to be one of Queen Latifah's favorite films(she said she had met the star a while back)
