From the comments I wasn't 100% sure what the consensus was on his Obama comments. Obama obviously has not been president in Zelensky's time in office. Some people seem to think he was blaming Obama for something old, some think he is just senile, which is how it sounded to me.
If it is the latter, I think Dems need to make THAT the big issue, not the disrespect of and disregard for Ukraine, which most regular people don't care about. Not Putin, who most regular people who don't watch MSNBC don't care about. The argument needs to be that this MFer belongs in a retirement home, not the White House. Make Republicans prop him up and put them where Dems foolishly positioned themselves a year ago, defending a MFer who regular people look at and don't have confidence in.
The black guys and Latinos and poor white people who voted for Trump don't know about or care about Zelensky. They never will. It has to be about the basic competence of Trump and the Republicans and how their agenda and actions impact US.

I actually heard him make that claim about Obama "only sending sheets while I sent Javelins" during the 2020 campaign. He would then claim, with a straight face, that Obama was the reason Putin was being aggressive.
It's obvious that he (Trump) is missing more than a few steps compared to just 4 years ago. I can see the Democrats playing that up but Trump is also extremely unpopular at the moment for other reasons so they have a lot ammo. If they know how to use it effectively is another question.
