This is why Trump has been tripping lately. His internal polls looks like shit. Also do mental state is getting extremely unstable. Kamala Harris did a wonderful job by going on Fox News and shutting them down while pointing out Trump decline.
Here is my theory:
Remember Nikki Hailey was still winning 30% of votes in the primaries long after she dropped out. A good chunk of those voters will stay at home or switch over to Harris.
